Composition

5 ml of suspension contains algeldrat (aluminum hydroxide) 340 mg, Magnesium hydroxide 395 mg, simethicone 36 mg;
Excipients: sorbitol, hydrogen peroxide (solution 30%), sorbitol, sodium saccharinate, gietelloza, citric acid monohydrate, ethyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, propylene glycol, macrogol 4000, orange flavor, ethanol 96%, purified water.

Mechanism of action

Antacid with a component that reduces flatulence. Almagel Neo neutralizes free hydrochloric acid, which leads to a decrease in the peptic activity of gastric juice. Does not cause secondary hypersecretion. It has a carminative effect, as well as an adsorbing and enveloping effect, reducing the influence of damaging factors on the mucous membrane. Simethicone, which is part of the drug, reduces flatulence in the intestines.

Indications and usage

• peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase;
• acute gastritis;
• chronic gastritis;
• gastroduodenitis with normal or increased secretion in the acute phase;
• hiatal hernia;
• reflux esophagitis;
• prevention and treatment of dyspeptic phenomena resulting from the use of NSAIDs and GCS;
• discomfort or pain in the epigastrium, dyspeptic phenomena (heartburn, sour belching) that occur after errors in the diet, excessive consumption of alcohol, coffee, nicotine.

Contraindications

• severe renal impairment;
• hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Do not recommend the use of the drug Almagel Neo during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Dosage and administration

Adults. 
Inside, 2 measured spoons of orange-flavored slurry 4 times / day. 1 hour after meals and in the evening before bedtime. If necessary, a single dose can be increased to 4 scoops, but the maximum daily dose should not exceed 12 scoops.
Children over 10 years old. 
The dosage is determined by the attending physician - usually 1/2 of the dose for adults.
The course of treatment is no more than 4 weeks. Before taking the suspension must be homogenized by shaking the bottle. It is advisable to take Almagel Neo undiluted. It is not recommended to take fluids for half an hour after taking the drug.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, change in taste, constipation, diarrhea. With long-term intake in high doses - hypophosphatemia, hypocalcemia, hypercalciuria, osteomalacia, osteoporosis, hypermagnemia, hyperaluminemia, encephalopathy, nephrocalcinosis, impaired renal function.In patients with concomitant renal insufficiency - thirst, lowering blood pressure, hyporeflexia.

Special notes

Almagel Neo should be used with caution in patients with impaired renal function and / or liver and elderly patients. To use the drug in these categories of patients should be under careful medical supervision.
The interval between taking Almagel Neo and other medicines should be 2 hours.

Drug interactions

With simultaneous use with the drug Almagel Neo, a weakening of the therapeutic effect of antibiotics of the Tetracycline group and Ciprofloxacin, Indomethacin, salicylates, Aminazine, histamine H blockers is possible.₂-receptors, beta-blockers, Digoxin, isoniazid, Ketoconazole.

Overdosage

Symptoms: weakness, pain in the bones, redness of the skin, inappropriate behavior. Possible metabolic disorders of phosphorus, Calcium and magnesium in the body.
Treatment: if necessary, conduct symptomatic therapy.

The drug should be stored in a dark, out of reach of children at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C; do not freeze.
