Indications and usage

The drug is used in conditions involving a deficiency or increase in the need for vitamins: with increased physical exertion, during a period of prolonged nervous overstrain and stress; in case of inadequate and unbalanced nutrition (limiting diets); in the elderly; in chronic alcoholism.

The drug is taken orally. The tablet, film-coated, washed down with water. Effervescent pill is pre-dissolved in a glass of water.

Adults and children aged 15 years and older appoint 1 tab. / day.

Do not exceed the recommended daily dose of the drug.

The recommended duration of treatment is 30 days. The need for a second course of treatment the doctor determines individually.

Adverse reactions

Gastrointestinal: slight transient gastrointestinal disturbances are possible.

Allergic reactions: rarely (<1/10 000) - urticaria, rash, laryngeal edema, anaphylactic shock.

From the hemopoietic system: in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, Ascorbic acid can cause hemolytic anemia.

Contraindications

Berokk's preparation^® Plus is not intended for use in pregnant or lactating women.

Vitamins and minerals contained in the preparation of Berocca^® Plus, stand out with breast milk. There are no data on the safety of the drug when used during lactation.

The drug is contraindicated for use in violation of kidney function, urolithiasis (nephrolithiasis, urolithiasis).

Use of the drug is contraindicated in children under 15 years of age.

The drug is approved for use in elderly patients.

Special notes

Ascorbic acid may affect the results of the urine glucose test, despite the fact that it does not affect the level of glucose in the blood. Reception of vitamin C should be stopped for several days before carrying out such tests.

Possible staining of urine in yellow color, which has no clinical significance and is explained by the presence of riboflavin in the preparation.

The drug does not contain fat-soluble vitamins.

1 pill contains the maximum daily dose of Pyridoxine, so do not exceed the recommended dose of the drug.

1 pill contains 12.5% ​​of the recommended daily intake of Calcium and 33.3% of the recommended daily intake of Magnesium. However, for the treatment of calcium and magnesium deficiency taking only the drug Berocca^® Plus is not enough.

1 pill of effervescent contains 272 mg of sodium, so for patients on a diet with limited salt intake, it is recommended to take the drug Berocca^® Plus in the form of film-coated tablets.

Information for diabetics

1 effervescent pill contains 276 mg of mannitol, which corresponds to 0.028 XE and an energy value of 0.66 kcal, 1 film-coated pill contains 25 mg of mannitol, 94 mg of lactose monohydrate and 13.44 mg of dextrose, which corresponds to 0.02 XE and an energy value of 0.143 kcal therefore, the drug can be taken in patients with diabetes.

Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms

Berocca^® Plus does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and control moving machinery.

Overdosage

No cases of overdose have been reported.

Symptoms: gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea and stomach discomfort are possible. Excessive intake of vitamin B₆ (more than 20 tab. / day and for several months) can lead to symptoms of neuropathy.

Treatment: the patient should stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Drug Interactions

Pyridoxine at a dose of more than 5 mg can neutralize the effect of levodopa in patients with parkinsonism. However, such antagonism is not observed when using levodopa in combination with a decarboxylase inhibitor (for example, benserazide, cardbidopa).

Thiosemicarbazone and 5-fluorouracil neutralize the action of thiamine.

Antacid drugs inhibit thiamine resorption.

Neomycin, aminosalicylic acid and histamine H blockers₂-receptors reduce the absorption of cyanocobalamin.

Acetylsalicylic acid reduces the absorption of ascorbic acid by about a third.

Oral contraceptives can reduce serum levels of cyanocobalamin, folic acid, pyridoxine, ascorbic acid.

Some patients who take deferoxamine and ascorbic acid daily at a dose of 500 mg may experience transient dysfunction of the left ventricle.

Effervescent pills should be stored in tightly closed packaging, out of the reach of children at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
