Composition
1 g ointment contains: Diclofenac 20 mg.
Excipients: Arespol, sodium hydroxide, Benzyl benzoate medical, Tween-80, nipagin, nipazol, purified water.
Packaging
In a tube 50 g ointment. In the package 1 tube.
Mechanism of action
Ortofen has anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect. Inhibits the synthesis of PG, reduces pain, swelling and hyperemia of tissues.
Indications and usage
- Diseases of the musculoskeletal system: rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis of the peripheral joints and the spine.
- Rheumatic lesions of soft tissues.
- Muscle aches of rheumatic and non-rheumatic origin.
- Traumatic soft tissue injuries.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to diclofenac, methyl salicylate or other components of the drug, Acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
- "Aspirinovaya" asthma.
- Pregnancy (III trimester).
- Lactation period.
- Children's age (up to 6 years).
- Violation of the integrity of the skin.
Carefully:
- Hepatic porphyria (exacerbation).
- Erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Severe abnormal liver and kidney function.
- Chronic heart failure.
- Bronchial asthma.
- Elderly age.
- Children's age up to 12 years.
- Pregnancy I and II trimester.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
The drug can not be used in the III trimester of pregnancy. Experience using Diclofenac during lactation is not available. Use in the I and II trimesters is possible only after consulting a doctor.
Dosage and administration
Outwardly. For adults and children over 6 years old, the drug is applied to the skin 3-4 times a day and lightly rubbed. The required amount of the drug depends on the size of the painful area. A single dose of the drug - 2 g (which is comparable in size, respectively, with the size of the cherry). The duration of treatment without consulting a doctor should not exceed 10 days.
Adverse reactions
Local reactions: eczema, photosensitivity, contact dermatitis (itching, redness, swelling of the treated skin area, papules, vesicles, peeling).
Systemic reactions: generalized skin rash, allergic reactions (urticaria, angioedema, bronspastic reactions), photosensitization
Special notes
Ortofen should be applied only to intact skin, avoiding contact with open wounds. After application, do not apply an occlusive dressing. Do not allow contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
Drug Interactions
Ortofen may enhance the effect of drugs that cause photosensitization. Clinically significant interactions with other drugs are not described.
Overdosage
Extremely low systemic absorption of the active components of the drug for external use makes overdosing almost impossible.
