Indications and usage

Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer, reflux esophagitis, stressful ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract; ulcers that have developed while taking NSAIDs and in patients with cirrhosis of the liver; Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, systemic mastocytosis; for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in infected patients with gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

Contraindications

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Contraindicated in pregnancy. At the time of treatment should stop breastfeeding.

Dosage and administration

Omez is taken orally, regardless of the meal, swallowing whole, not chewing.
Duodenal ulcer: on 1 kaps. (20 mg) per day for 2-4 weeks (in resistant cases - up to 2 capsules per day).
Stomach ulcer: on 1 kaps. (20 mg) per day for 4-6 weeks (in resistant cases, up to 2 capsules per day).
Erosive and ulcerative esophagitis: 2 caps. (40 mg) per day for 4 weeks, with severe course of the disease, the course is extended to 6-8-12 weeks.
Anti-relapse treatment of duodenal and gastric ulcers: on 1 kaps. (20 mg) per day.
Anti-relapse treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease: 1 caps (20 mg) per day for a long time (up to 6 months or more).
Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: the dose is selected individually depending on the initial level of gastric secretion, usually starting from 60-80 mg / day, the dose of 80 mg or more is divided into 2 doses. Treatment is effective if it is possible to achieve a reduction in the level of gastric secretion to 10 mmol / h and below.
Eradication of Helicobacter pylori: 40 mg / day (in complex therapy).

Adverse reactions

Diarrheal phenomenon, headache, dizziness, weakness, rash.

Special notes

If there are any alarming symptoms (for example, such as significant spontaneous weight loss, frequent vomiting, dysphagia, vomiting with blood or melena), and also in the presence of a stomach ulcer (or suspected stomach ulcer), the possibility of a malignant neoplasm should be excluded, therefore In these cases, before and after treatment, endoscopic control is necessary, since treatment with Omeprazole can “mask” the symptoms and delay the correct diagnosis.
In patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, the dose should not exceed 20 mg / day.
Care should be taken when prescribing against the background of Warfarin, phenytoin, diazepam.

Overdosage

Symptoms: confusion, blurred vision, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, nausea, tachycardia, arrhythmia.
Treatment: symptomatic. Hemodialysis is not effective enough.
