Active ingredient and dosage form

Kvamatel - coated tablets: 1 pill contains Famotidine 20 and 40 mg, excipients in the core of the tablet: colloidal silica, anhydrous; Magnesium stearate; Povidone K 90; sodium carboxymethyl starch, type A; talc; corn starch; lactose monohydrate;

Kvamatel - lyophilized powder for solution for injection:

1 fl. contains famotidine 20 mg, excipients: aspartic acid; mannitol; solvent: sodium chloride; water for injections;

Kvamatel has an anti-ulcer effect.

Indications and usage

For oral administration:

peptic ulcer of the duodenum and stomach in the acute phase, prevention of relapse;

treatment and prevention of symptomatic gastric and duodenal ulcers (associated with the use of NSAIDs, stress, postoperative);

erosive gastroduodenitis;

functional dyspepsia associated with increased gastric secretion;

reflux esophagitis;

Zollinger-Ellison syndrome;

prevention of recurrence of bleeding from the upper GI tract;

prevention of gastric juice aspiration during general anesthesia (Mendelssohn's syndrome).

For on / in the introduction:

peptic ulcer of the duodenum and stomach in the acute phase;

Adverse reactions

Dosage and administration

Kvamatel take inside.In case of gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute stage: 40 mg 1 time per day, at bedtime or 20 mg 2 times per day. If necessary, the daily dose of quamel can be increased to 80-160 mg. The course of treatment is 4-8 weeks. In order to prevent relapse: 20 mg 1 time per day before bedtime. When reflux esophagitis: 20-40 mg 2 times a day for 6-12 weeks. With Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: the dose of the drug and the duration of the course of treatment are set individually, the initial dose is usually 20 mg every 6 hours. With general anesthesia to prevent aspiration of gastric juice: 40 mg in the evening before the operation and / or in the morning before the operation.

Kvamatel administered in / in, jet or drip (used when it is impossible ingestion). The usual dose is 20 mg 2 times a day (every 12 hours).

Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: the initial dose is 20 mg every 6 hours. Subsequently, the dose depends on the level of secretion of hydrochloric acid and the clinical condition of the patient.
