Mechanism of action
Dulcolax has a laxative effect.
Common to both dosage forms:
constipation due to hypotension of the colon (in old age, in bedridden patients, after surgery, childbirth);
preoperative preparation and preparation for instrumental and radiological studies.
For pills additionally - regulation of stool for hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures.
Contraindications

Adverse reactions
Common to both dosage forms: from the gastrointestinal tract - abdominal cramping, diarrhea,which can lead to dehydration and disruption of water and electrolyte balance (muscle weakness, convulsions, decrease in blood pressure).
Tablets in addition: allergic reactions are possible; from the gastrointestinal tract - flatulence.
Suppositories in addition: the use of high doses or long-term use of bisacodyl can lead to the development of intestinal atony.
Interaction
The combined use of the drug Dulcolax in the form of pills with antacid agents, as well as with milk and alkaline mineral water can lead to premature dissolution of the shell of the pills and irritation of the stomach and duodenum.
Dosage and administration
Dulcolax pills are taken orally:
- adults and children over 12 years old - 1-2 tables. appointment;
- children 6-12 years old - 1 tab. At the reception 1 time per day before bedtime or in the morning 30 minutes before meals;
Dulcolax suppositories: rectally, the suppository is inserted into the rectum with a pointed end forward, for adults and children over 10 years old - 1 supp. 1-2 times a day, children 6-10 years old - 1/2 supp. 1-2 times a day for no more than 7 days (in the absence of instructions from the doctor).
In children under 6 years of age, Dulcolax may be used only as prescribed by a doctor.
Avoid long-term use of Dulcolax. pills should not be taken simultaneously with antacids, alkaline mineral water or milk.
Storage conditions
The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C.Shelf life - 3 years.
