Composition and release form

1 ml of nasal drops contains 1 mg naphazoline, as well as excipients (boric acid, purified water); in plastic dropper bottles of 10 ml, in a cardboard bundle one bottle.
Characteristic

Transparent colorless or slightly colored liquid.

Pharmacological action - vasoconstrictor.

It stimulates alpha2-adrenoreceptors, narrows the vessels of the nasal mucosa, reduces swelling, hyperemia, exudation of the mucous membrane. Relieves nasal breathing in rhinitis.
Indications drug Naftizin

Acute rhinitis, sinusitis, laryngitis, eustachitis, rhinoscopy (to facilitate the holding).
Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, arterial hypertension, hyperthyroidism, marked atherosclerosis, tachycardia, simultaneous use of MAO inhibitors and a period of up to 14 days after the end of their use, children's age.
Side effects of the drug Naftizin

Reactions due to local action of the drug: irritation of the mucous membrane, reactive hyperemia, when used for more than 1 week - swelling of the mucous membrane, atrophic rhinitis.

Reactions due to systemic action of the drug: nausea, headache, in some cases in susceptible patients - increased blood pressure, tachycardia.
Interaction

Do not combine with MAO inhibitors (after the end of their use, prescribe the drug no earlier than after 14 days).

Lengthens the effect of local anesthetics used for surface anesthesia.
Dosage and administration

Intranasal (in each nasal passage), adults - 1-3 drops 3-4 times a day.
special instructions

Not recommended for chronic rhinitis.

With prolonged use, it should be borne in mind that the vasoconstrictor effect gradually decreases (the phenomenon of tachyphylaxis), so after 5-7 days of use it is recommended to take a break for several days.
