Mechanism of action

Immunostimulatory drug for intranasal use, which includes the lysate of bacteria.
The drug increases the content of lysozyme, stimulates phagocytosis. The specific prophylactic effect of the drug is explained by an increase in the activity of secretory immunoglobulins type A.
The polypeptide principle of the structure of the drug prevents the formation of sensitive antibodies in the case of microbial allergy.
The effect of the drug begins 1-2 minutes after administration and lasts for 1.5-2 hours.

The drug mainly acts in the upper respiratory tract; currently there are no data on its systemic absorption.

Indications and usage

Seasonal prevention and treatment of inflammatory and / or infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract and respiratory organs:
- rhinitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis;
- acute tonsillitis;
- acute and chronic bronchitis, tracheitis;
- acute and chronic sinusitis;
- otitis media;
- complications of influenza or other viral infections;
- Vasomotor rhinitis;
- preparation for planned surgical intervention on the ENT organs and the postoperative period.

The drug can be prescribed adults and children from 3 months.
AT prophylactic purposes appoint 2 injections per day in each nostril for 2 weeks.
AT therapeutic purposes Depending on the age, 2 to 5 injections per day are prescribed in each nostril, until the symptoms of infection disappear.

Adverse reactions

Maybe: Rhinorrhea and sneezing (at the beginning of the drug, as a rule, are of short duration). In isolated cases - urticaria (the patient should be informed that treatment in this case should be interrupted and inform the attending physician about this)

Contraindications

- hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

There is insufficient clinical data on the teratogenicity or toxicity of the drug. Therefore, the use of the drug IRS 19 during pregnancy is not recommended.
It is not known whether the drug is excreted in breast milk. Therefore, the use of IRS 19 during lactation (breastfeeding) is not shown.

Special notes

With the application of IRS 19, antibiotic therapy may be prescribed.
When the drug is injected, the aerosol package should be in a strictly upright position, the patient should not tilt the head back.
It is not recommended to remove the nozzle from the bottle. If there is a blockage of the nozzle, you should make a few clicks in a row; if there is no effect, rinse the nozzle with warm water.

Overdosage

To date, cases of overdose of drug IRS 19 have not been reported.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 3 years.
The bottle should be protected from heating above 50 ° C and from direct sunlight; do not open with force, do not burn.
