Active ingredient
white round without shell.
1 pill contains N-acetylglucosaminyl-N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanyl-D-isoglutamine - 1 or 10 mg;
in a blister strip package 10 pcs.; in a carton pack 1 pack.
Mechanism of action
Lycopid is an immunomodulatory drug. It is the main structural unit of the bacterial cell wall. It has the ability to affect the main cell populations of the immune system (macrophages, T-cells and B-lymphocytes), which is probably due to the presence of specific intracellular receptors for glucosaminylmuramyl dipeptide.
By acting on monocyte-macrophage cells, Licopid leads to their activation, enhances the expression of HLA-DR antigens, phagocytosis, increases the activity of lysosomal enzymes, the production of reactive oxygen species, and therefore increases the cytotoxic effect of macrophages against bacterial agents, infected and tumor cells. Under the influence of Licopid, the secretory activity of macrophages is stimulated, which manifests itself in an increase in the synthesis of anti-inflammatory cytokines (interleukin-1, tumor necrosis factor alpha and colony-stimulating factors). These cytokines increase the efficiency of phagocytosis, promote the activation, proliferation and differentiation of T and B lymphocytes,enhancing the synthesis of immunoglobulins, cytotoxicity of lymphocytes, natural killer cells, macrophages. An increase in the synthesis of colony-stimulating factors contributes to the stimulation of leukopoiesis.
It has been established that with the use of high doses of Licopid, a limitation of the biological activity of these cytokines and a decrease in the intensity of the inflammatory process are noted.
It was established that Licopid stimulates antitumor immunity, which is associated with the induction of the cytotoxic properties of lymphocytes and monocyte-macrophage cells.
Secondary immunodeficiencies manifested in chronic, sluggish, recurrent infectious-inflammatory processes of any localization (as part of combination therapy).
