Mechanism of action

Chondroitin is a stimulator of cartilage tissue regeneration (chondroprotector), a high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide derived from the cartilage of cattle trachea. Affects metabolic processes in hyaline and fibrous cartilage, reduces degenerative changes in the cartilage tissue of the joints, stimulates the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans. Suppresses the activity of enzymes that cause damage to cartilage tissue, promotes the regeneration of the articular sacs and the cartilaginous surfaces of the joints, increases the production of intraarticular fluid. It slows down bone resorption and reduces Calcium loss, accelerates bone repair processes. With drug treatment, pain decreases and mobility of the affected joints improves. The therapeutic effect persists for a long time after the end of the course of treatment.

Indications and usage

Degenerative diseases of the joints and spine:
- Osteoarthrosis.

Contraindications

Dosage and administration

The drug is prescribed inside. The therapeutic effect develops within 8-12 weeks of taking the drug.
Adults - 750 mg 2 times / day for the first 3 weeks, then 500 mg 2 times / day for 9 weeks.
Children older than 5 years, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 500-750 mg / day.
