Mechanism of action

Videstim stimulates the regeneration of the skin, enhances the reproduction of epithelial cells of the skin, inhibits keratinization processes, prevents the development of hyperkeratosis. Local action is due to the presence of specific retinol-binding receptors on the surface of epithelial cells.

Indications and usage

Inflammatory diseases and conditions of the skin, accompanied by dryness and delayed healing: dermatitis, eczema, atopic dermatitis without exacerbation, cheilitis, fissures (including nipples of the mammary glands) and abrasions, age-related changes of the skin, and diseases associated with disturbed processes of keratinization. It is used to activate reparative processes in various dermatoses after cessation of treatment with glucocorticosteroid drugs.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, hypervitaminosis A, acute inflammatory skin diseases.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The use of the drug is possible in cases where the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Dosage and administration

Outwardly. Ointment is applied with a thin layer to the affected skin 2 times a day: early in the morning and late in the evening. With a strong peeling of the skin, you can use an occlusive dressing. Before applying the ointment, cracks and abrasions are treated with antiseptics. On nipple cracks in nursing mothers, ointment is applied 2 times a day, morning and evening after feeding, with a break of 12 hours. The mammary gland should be washed with warm water and soap before the next feeding after applying Videstam ointment.
The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and can be 4-12 weeks.

Adverse reactions

In some cases, it is possible to increase the itching and redness of the skin in places where the preparation is applied, which requires its temporary cancellation until the process becomes less acute. Allergic reactions are possible.

Drug Interactions

Do not use in combination with other drugs containing vitamin A and retinoids, in order to avoid hypervitaminosis A. Incompatible with Tetracycline antibiotics.
