Active ingredient

Ascentra sugar coated tablets:
sertraline 50 mg or 100 mg;
28 pcs. packaged.

Mechanism of action

Asentra has an antidepressant effect.

Treatment and prevention of depression of various etiologies, incl. accompanied by anxiety;
obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD);
panic disorder;
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Dosage and administration

Inside In adults, the average initial dose of the Center is 50 mg 1 time per day, in the morning or in the evening. The daily dose can be gradually, not earlier than in a week, increased from 50 mg to a maximum daily dose of 200 mg.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the active substance of the Center or other ingredients that make up the drug;
• combined use of sertraline and MAO inhibitors (monoamine oxidase). When replacing one drug with another, you should refrain from taking antidepressants for 14 days;
• the combined use of sertraline with tryptophan or fenfluramine;
• unstable epilepsy;
• pregnancy and lactation;
• children's age up to 6 years.

Carefully: neurological disorders (includingmental retardation); manic states; epilepsy; hepatic and / or renal failure; weight loss; child age over 6 years.

Adverse reactions

On the part of the digestive system: dry mouth, decreased appetite (rarely - increased), up to anorexia, dyspepsia (flatulence, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or unstable stool, constipation), stomach cramps, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, hepatitis, jaundice or liver failure.
Nervous system disorders: drowsiness, headache, dizziness, tremor, insomnia, anxiety, agitation, hypomania, mania, akathisia, paresthesias, depression symptoms, hallucinations, aggression, agitation, anxiety, psychosis, gait disturbances, extrapyramidal disorders, dyskinesias, tremors cramps. Movement disorders were more frequently observed in patients with indications of their presence in history or with the concomitant use of antipsychotics.
On the part of the urogenital system: delayed ejaculation, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, anorgasmia, menstrual disorders, gynecomastia, priapism, hyperprolactinemia, galactorrhea.
On the part of the respiratory system: choking or feeling of compression of the chest.
Since the cardiovascular system: palpitations, chest pain, hypertension, hypotension, swelling, syncope and tachycardia (very rare).
From the senses: visual impairment (including blurred vision).

Special notes

The center should not be prescribed in conjunction with MAO inhibitors, as well as within 14 days after stopping treatment with MAO inhibitors. Similarly, after the abolition of sertraline, no MAO inhibitors are prescribed for 14 days.
