Fotil - eye drops: 1 ml of drops contains pilocarpine hydrochloride 20 mg, Timolol maleate (in terms of timolol) 5 mg, excipients: benzalkonium chloride - 0.1 mg; citric acid (monohydrate); sodium citrate; hypromellose; water for injections;
in plastic dropper bottles of 5 ml.
Fotil has antiglaucoma action.
Open-angle and angle-closure glaucoma, glaucoma with aphakia, secondary glaucoma, marked elevation of intraocular pressure (in combination with other means), increased intraocular pressure after an operation on the eye.
Hypersensitivity to any of the components Foti, acute iritis, sinus bradycardia, AV block II and III degrees, heart failure in the stage of decompensation, cardiogenic shock, bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in severe form.
Fotil should not be used during pregnancy and during breastfeeding if the expected therapeutic effect does not exceed the potential risk to the fetus.
Local: quickly passing burning sensation and pain in the eye, increased tearing, conjunctival redness, temporal and supra-orbital headaches, myopia; associated with timolol: reduced corneal sensitivity, punctate keratitis, dry eye syndrome, eyelid dermatitis; possible: spasm of the ciliary muscle, induced myopia, reduced visual acuity in low light (due to miosis).
Systemic: nausea, diarrhea, increased sweating, increased salivation, decreased blood pressure, asthma attack, heart failure, arrhythmia.
Fotil is used conjunctivally. 1 drop in the affected eye 2 times a day.
If at the usual dosage the intraocular pressure remains elevated, it can be increased: 1 drop Fotil forte 2 times a day.
