Composition of the release rate
Thermicon pills white or white with a yellowish tinge, flat-cylindrical, with a chamfer and risky.
1 pill contains: active substance: Terbinafine 250 mg
Excipients:sodium starch glycolate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, milk sugar, aerosil, Magnesium stearate.
7 or 14 pills per pack.

Pharmacological properties
Thermicon is allylamine and has a wide spectrum of action of antifungal action. Active against dermatophytes: Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton violaceum, Microsporum canis, Epidermophyton floccosum. In low concentrations, it has a fungicidal effect on dermatophytes, mold fungi (Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis) and some dimorphic fungi. The activity against yeast fungi of the genus Candida and their mycelial forms, depending on the species, can be fungicidal or fungistatic.
Thermikon is also active in relation to Pityrosporum orbiculare (also called Malassezia furfur) is the causative agent of varicolor (pityriasis).
A Thermicon disrupts the ergosterol synthesis in fungi by inhibiting the enzyme squalene epoxidase located on the cell membrane of the fungus. This leads to a deficiency of ergosterol and to the intracellular accumulation of squalene, which causes the death of the fungal cell.
Terbinafine does not affect the synthesis of hormones and other drugs.

Indications

• onychomycosis;
• mycoses of the scalp (trichophytia, microsporia);
• treatment of widespread dermatomycosis of the trunk and extremities;
• candidiasis of the skin and mucous membranes caused by Candida fungi (in cases where the localization or prevalence of the process determines the appropriateness of oral therapy).

Dosage and administration
The duration of the course of treatment and the dosage regimen is set individually and depends on the localization process and the severity of the disease.
For adults usually administered orally after a meal on a table. (250 mg) once a day.
Patients with hepatic and renal insufficiency - 1/2 pill (125 mg) 1 time per day.

Mycoses of the skin: recommended treatment duration: 2-6 weeks. The complete disappearance of the clinical manifestations of the disease is usually observed several weeks after mycological cure.

Mycoses of the scalp (observed mainly in children). The course of treatment is about 4 weeks.

Onychomycosis
The duration of the course of drug treatment in most patients is b - 12 weeks. The optimal clinical effect is observed several months after mycological cure and cessation of therapy. This is determined by the period of time that is necessary for the growth of a healthy nail.

Use of the drug in children
For children, the drug is prescribed from the age of two. For children weighing up to 20 kg - 62.5 mg / day (1/4 tablet); from 20 kg to 40 kg - 125 mg / day (1/2 tablet); more than 40 kg - 250 mg / day (1 tablet).
Data on the use of the drug in children under two years of age (with a body weight less than 12 kg) is not available.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to terbinafine or any other component that is part of the drug.
Carefully - alcoholism, blood diseases, tumors, metabolic diseases, vascular pathology of limbs. Children age - up to 2 years.

special instructions
Irregular use or early termination of treatment increases the risk of recurrence.

If after 2 weeks of treatment there is no improvement, it is necessary to re-determine the causative agent and its sensitivity to the drug. Caution must be exercised in the appointment of Thermicon inside the patient with impaired liver function and (or) kidney. If you identify symptoms suggesting abnormal liver function (lack of appetite, fatigue, persistent nausea, jaundice, dark urine), you must stop the drug. Patients with chronic disorders of the liver and kidneys should be prescribed half the usual recommended dose of the drug and monitor the performance of the liver and kidneys during treatment. Unlike a Thermicon for topical use, a Thermicon pill is not effective with multi-colored lichen.

In the process and at the end of treatment, it is necessary to produce antifungal treatment of shoes, socks and stockings.

Pregnancy and lactation
Experience with the use of the drug during pregnancy is limited, so do not use Thermicon during pregnancy.Terbinafine is excreted in breast milk, so if necessary, the appointment of the drug is necessary to solve the issue of stopping breastfeeding.

Side effects
Thermicon generally well tolerated. Side effects are usually mild or moderate and are transient. When ingestion can be observed:
From the gastrointestinal tract: dyspepsia, abdominal pain, feeling of fullness in the stomach, nausea, loss of appetite, diarrhea; sometimes a violation of taste, including their loss (restored after a few weeks after stopping treatment);
Musculoskeletal system: muscle pain, joint pain
From the hemopoietic system: neutropenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, rarely - lymphopenia.
Allergic reactions: skin rash in the form of spots, wheals, rarely toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, anaphylactoid reactions
