Active ingredient and dosage form

BIFIDUM BAKTERIN produced in several dosage forms: dry in vials and ampoules, Bifidumbacterin powder in bags of laminated foil; Bifidumbacterin pills and in candles.
For the manufacture of the drug in vials and ampoules using the microbial mass of living bifidobacteria, lyophilized in a protective sugar-gelatin-dairy medium with a growing medium. Bifidumbacterin in powder - freeze-dried biomass of live bacteria, purified from the growing medium. One dose Bifidumbacterin in vials, ampoules, contains 10 ^ 7, in powder - 10 ^ 8 living cells.
Each of these packages contains 5 doses, in a pill and a candle - 1 dose.

Mechanism of action

Bifidumbacterin - normalizes the intestinal microflora, immunomodulating agent. Bifidumbacterin is a probiotic and contains lyophilized live antagonist active bifidobacteria. It is an antagonist of a wide range of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms; activates the process of digestion and gastrointestinal function, metabolic processes, increases the nonspecific resistance of the organism.

Indications and usage

Bifidumbacterin is used to normalize the microbiocenosis of the gastrointestinal tract (correction of the intestinal microflora), increase the nonspecific resistance of the body, stimulate the functional activity of the digestive system, to prevent intrahospital infections in maternity homes and hospitals, has detoxification properties.
Bifidumbacterin is prescribed to children and adults in the treatment of:
- intestinal dysbiosis (dysbiosis), incl. prophylaxis with antibiotic therapy, NSAIDs, hormones, radiation and Chemotherapy, stress;
- acute intestinal infections (shigellosis, salmonellosis, staphylococcal enterocolitis, rotavirus infection);
- intestinal infections of not established etiology and food toxicoinfections;
- intestinal dysbiosis accompanying the course of various diseases, including those with lesions of the digestive tract (gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, pancreatitis, cholecystitis, chronic diseases of the liver and biliary tract);

Dosage and administration

Inside (tablets, powder):
Before use, the drug is mixed with the liquid part of the food, preferably fermented milk and give before meals. You can mix the drug with 30-50 ml of boiled water at room temperature and drink the resulting suspension without achieving complete dissolution of lactose. Infants are given during feeding, mixed with mother's milk.

Preventive course 2-3 weeks 2-3 times a year.
For treatment bifidumbacterin is administered children up to 6 months 2.5 doses 2-6 times a day, children from 6 months to 7 years - 5 doses 3-5 times a day,children from 7 years and adults 10 doses 3-4 times a day.
The course of treatment from 5 to 15 days is determined by the nature and severity of the disease.
The course of treatment is 3-4 weeks. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated 2-3 times. Each course is held one month after the end of the previous course.
Patients with surgical pathology Bifidumbacterin is prescribed for 3-5 days before surgery and for 10-15 days after surgery for 5-10 doses 3 times a day.
Outwardly and locally:
For the prevention of mastitis: 20-30 minutes before feeding with a sterile swab moistened with the preparation solution (5 doses are dissolved in 10-15 ml of boiled water at room temperature), the nipples and areola of the mammary glands are treated for 5 days.

Contraindications

Not installed, except for individual intolerance to the drug. Bifidumbacterin should be administered with caution to children with lactase deficiency.
