Active ingredient and dosage form

Film-coated tablets biconvex white or almost white in color, the shape of a disk marked “P8” on one side, “RG” on the other side.

1 pill contains 0.03 mg of ethinyl estradiol and 0.15 mg of desogestrel;
Excipients: alpha-tocopherol, Magnesium stearate, anhydrous colloidal silica, stearic acid, povidone, potato starch, lactose monohydrate;
shell: propylene glycol, macrogol 6000, hypromellose;

Mechanism of action

Contraceptive, estrogen-progestin.
Regulon has an effect primarily by inhibiting the secretion of follicle-stimulating and luteinizing hormones and blocking ovulation, inhibits the passage of sperm through the cervical mucus and implantation of a fertilized egg.

Indications and usage

Oral contraception.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; moderate to severe hypertension; hyperlipidemia (family forms); arterial thromboembolic diseases, incl. history (myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular disease); risk of arterial or venous thromboembolism; venous thromboembolism in personal or family history; diabetic angiopathy; the presence or indication in the history of severe liver disease,cholestatic jaundice, hepatitis, jaundice during pregnancy, Dubin-Johnson and Rotor syndromes, liver swelling, porphyria, medication containing steroids; hepatitis (before restoration of laboratory parameters and within 3 months after their normalization); cholelithiasis; estrogen-dependent tumors (including suspicion of them), genital bleeding of unknown etiology; systemic lupus erythematosus (including history); severe itching, genital herpes, otosclerosis, or worsening of otosclerosis during a previous pregnancy or steroids; pregnancy (including suspicion of her).

Dosage and administration

1 pill per day, starting from the first day of menstruation, for 21 days.

Adverse reactions

From the nervous system and sensory organs: headache, migraine, mood changes, depressive states, Sydengam's chorea.
Since the cardiovascular system and blood (hematopoiesis, hemostasis): very rarely - increased risk of arterial and venous thromboembolic diseases (for example, myocardial infarction, stroke, deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities, pulmonary thromboembolism); hypertension.
On the part of the digestive tract: nausea, vomiting, gallstone disease, cholestatic jaundice.
From the genitourinary system: intermenstrual bleeding, amenorrhea, change in vaginal mucus, candidiasis.
From the skin: nodular erythema, rash, chloasma.
Allergic reactions: very rarely - exacerbation of reactive systemic lupus erythematosus.
Other: tension, pain, increase and release of milk from the mammary glands; increased corneal sensitivity while wearing contact lenses; fluid retention, change in body weight, decrease in carbohydrate tolerance.

Special notes

If more than 36 hours have passed between taking the pills, then contraceptive reliability in this cycle is not guaranteed. When skipping 1 tab. in the first or second week of the cycle should be taken 2 table. the next day and then regularly. When skipping 2 tab. in a row in the first or second week of the cycle - 2 tabl. in the next 2 days and beyond - regular use, using additional methods of contraception until the end of the cycle; when you skip the pill in the third week of the cycle - a 7-day break is also excluded.

With extreme caution used in non-ischemic etiology of heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, renal dysfunction, epilepsy, Sydenham's chorea, bronchial asthma.

It should be borne in mind that oral contraceptives lower carbohydrate tolerance and increase the need for insulin or oral antidiabetic drugs.

During the reception requires medical supervision at least every 6 months. After suffering viral hepatitis, use is possible no earlier than after 6 months (with normalization of liver function). In the case of vomiting or diarrhea, the use of a mechanical method of contraception is necessary.During the reception should stop smoking (increased frequency of thromboembolism of different localization, especially in women older than 35 years).

Drug Interactions

When used together, antispasmodics, barbiturates, antibiotics (tetracycline, ampicillin, rifampicin), Griseofulvin, laxatives, active complexes of some medicinal plants, including Hypericum, alter the nature of the menstrual reaction or reduce effectiveness.
