Indications and usage

Oral contraception.

Contraindications

Combined oral contraceptives should not be used if one of the following conditions or diseases is present:

- Deep vein thrombosis of the lower extremities, pulmonary thromboembolism or thrombosis of other localization now or in the past.
- Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and acute cerebrovascular accident (ONMK) - ischemic or hemorrhagic in nature - now or in the past.
- Prodromal manifestations of ACS (stenocardia) or stroke (transient ischemic attacks - TIA) now or in the past.
- Migraine, accompanied by focal neurological symptoms (visual disturbances, speech, paresthesia, or paresis of different localization).
- Diabetes mellitus with complications of a vascular nature.
- Pancreatitis associated with hyperlipidemia, currently or in history.
- Liver disease in the present or in history, while the indicators of liver function are not normalized.
- Hormone-dependent malignant tumors of the genital organs or mammary gland at the present time or in history.
- A benign or malignant liver tumor, currently or in history.
- Vaginal bleeding of unknown genesis.
- Established or probable pregnancy.
- Hypersensitivity to estradiol valerate or dienogest, or other components of the drug.

It is necessary to immediately discontinue the use of the drug in case of one of the above conditions and switch to the use of non-hormonal contraceptives (see also section SPECIAL INDICATIONS).

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Pregnancy: the drug is not used during pregnancy or when it is suspected. When planning a pregnancy, you can stop using the drug at any time.

Lactation: Qlaira drug is not recommended for use in the period of breastfeeding.

Each package contains 26 color active pills and 2 white inactive tablets.

Take 1 pill 1 time per day at approximately the same time with a small amount of water, regardless of the meal.

With the proper use of combined oral contraceptives, the incidence of unwanted pregnancies is approximately 1% per year.The incidence of unwanted pregnancies may increase when you skip a drug or misuse it.

Packing preparation: To facilitate the control of pill taking, 7 strips of stickers with the names of the days of the week are attached to the pack. Choose a strip that starts from the day corresponding to the beginning of the drug intake (for example, for a medium, use a strip starting with “Cp”). Paste the strip on top of the package Qlaira in the place where it is indicated "Stick the strip here", so that the 1st day of taking the drug was above the pill under the number "1". If you have a specified day on each tablet, you can control the intake of tablets. It is necessary to take pills one by one, following the direction of the arrows, before the end of taking all 28 pills. Usually, menstrual-like bleeding begins when you take a second pill of dark red or white pill and may not end before taking a new pill. In some women, bleeding continues even after taking the first pills from a new package. A break before starting to take pills from a new package is not done, the use of pills from the next package is started the next day after taking the pills from the current package, even if menstrual bleeding continues. Thus, the beginning of the reception of a new package will be on a certain day of the week, and every month the beginning of menstruation will be approximately on the same day of the week.When taking the drug in the manner described above, the contraceptive effect is also maintained when taking inactive pills for 2 days.

How to start taking Clayra: hormonal contraceptive preparations were not used in the previous month. Pills should be taken on the 1st day of the menstrual cycle (1st day of menstrual bleeding).

The transition from another PDA, a contraceptive vaginal ring or a transdermal patch: Kleir's application must be started the next day after taking the last active pill of the previous PDA. Inactive pills from the packaging of the previous PDA (if any) are not taken, but they start taking Clayr pills without interruption. When using the combined contraceptive vaginal ring or transdermal patch, it is advisable that the woman start using Qlaira on the day of the removal of the product or on the recommendation of a doctor.

Transition from a progestogen-based method (mini-pili, injections, implants) or an intrauterine system with a progestogen: you can start taking Qlaira any day after you stop taking mini-pili (in the case of an implant or intrauterine system - on the day of their removal, in the case of an injection, instead of the next injection). Nevertheless, in all cases, it is recommended to additionally use a barrier method of contraception during the first 9 days of taking the pills.

After miscarriage: on the recommendation of a doctor.

After childbirth: taking the drug Qlaira begin after the end of the first physiological menstrual cycle. In some cases, this is possible earlier (as recommended by the doctor). However, if sexual intercourse has already taken place, then before starting the use of PDA it is necessary to exclude the presence of a possible pregnancy or to wait for menstruation. When using the drug during breastfeeding, as well as in the absence of confidence in the timing of the start of the use of the drug requires prior consultation with a doctor.

What to do if you skip taking the pill:
- Inactive pills: When skipping taking the pill is white (2 pills at the end of the package), there is no need to take it later, because it does not contain active ingredients, and the contraceptive effect of the drug does not decrease. It is important to take the next pill at the usual time and remove the forgotten inactive white pills from the package. Contraceptive efficacy of the drug may decrease with an accidental increase in the period during which active pills are not used. When you skip the last white pill from the package, you must take the first pill from the next package at the usual time.
- Active pills: (1–26 pills per pack) Depending on the day of the menstrual cycle, on which the active pill was missed, additional contraception may be necessary (using a barrier method of contraception - a condom).Tablets should be taken according to the recommendations given (see also Principles for use in case of missed tablets). If the delay in taking the active pill does not exceed 12 hours, the contraceptive effect of Clayr's drug does not decrease. The missed pill must be taken as soon as possible. The following pills from this package should be taken at the usual time. If the delay in taking the active pill exceeds 12 hours, the contraceptive effect may be reduced. Depending on the day of the menstrual cycle on which the active pill was missed, additional contraception may be necessary (use of a barrier method of contraception - a condom) (see also Principles of use in case of a missed pill).

Principles of use in the case of missed pills: when you skip taking more than the 1st active pill, you should consult a doctor. When skipping the reception of the 1st active pill (delay in taking more than 12 hours) and if you have within 1 week before skipping sexual intercourse, you must follow the following recommendations:
- 1–9th day of the menstrual cycle - additional consultation with a doctor.
- The 10-17th day of the menstrual cycle they take a forgotten pill, all subsequent pills - at the usual time, even if you need to take 2 pills on 1 day, use additional methods of contraception for the next 9 days (condom).
- 18–24th day of the menstrual cycle do not take a forgotten pill, but begin with the 1st pill of a new package, use additional methods of contraception in the next 9 days.
- The 25–26th day of the menstrual cycle is used to take a forgotten pill, all subsequent pills are taken at the usual time, even if you need to take 2 pills on 1 day, there is no need for additional contraceptive methods.
- 27–28th day of the menstrual cycle do not take the missed pill and continue taking the pills at the usual time, additional methods of contraception are not necessary.

When you skip taking another pill, do not take more than 2 active pills per day.

In the case when the start of taking the pills from the next package is missed or missed? 1 pill during the period of 3–9 days of the current package, there is a risk of pregnancy (if during the 7 days before the missed pill was intercourse). In this case, you must consult a doctor. Depending on the number of missed pills (especially on day 3–24) and the closer they are to the inactive pill phase, the risk of a decrease in the contraceptive effect increases.

If a woman misses taking active pills and does not have the expected menstruation while taking the last pill package, it is necessary to exclude the possibility of pregnancy. Before you start taking pills from a new package, you should consult a doctor.

With vomiting or severe diarrhea: while taking any of the 26 active pills of the drug, Clayr may decrease the absorption of active substances. If vomiting has developed within 3-4 hours after taking the pills, this is similar to skipping the drug, you must follow the instructions for the missed pills. In severe diarrhea, consult a doctor.The presence of vomiting or diarrhea when taking the last 2 inactive white pills does not affect the contraceptive efficacy of the drug.

You can stop taking Qlaira at any time. When you stop using the drug for the onset of pregnancy, you must wait until the next menstrual bleeding begins before conception. This will help in determining the date of delivery.

At occurrence of possible signs of thrombosis or stroke, the use of the drug is immediately stopped.

When using oral contraceptives during the first few months during the intermenstrual period, irregular vaginal bleeding is possible, and the mode of use of the drug does not change; These states stop as they adapt to the drug (as a rule, after 3 cycles of taking pills).

In case of incorrect or irregular administration of Qlaira or severe vomiting or diarrhea, or in the absence of expected bleeding after the 26th day of the menstrual cycle, it is necessary to consider a possible pregnancy 2 times in a row, the drug should not be resumed until the pregnancy is excluded.

When using the drug, Qlaira does not use the calendar and temperature methods, they may be unreliable, since the combined oral contraceptive changes the usual fluctuations in body temperature and the properties of the mucus of the cervix uterine, characteristic of the menstrual cycle.Clire, like other PDAs, does not protect against HIV infection (AIDS) and other sexually transmitted diseases.

Increase the concentration of active substances Qlaira in the blood plasma antifungal drugs containing Ketoconazole , Erythromycin antibiotics. Qlaira may affect the effectiveness of lamotrigine.

Oral contraceptives may affect the results of some laboratory tests.

There are no reports of serious consequences of an overdose of the drug Qlaira.

Symptoms: after taking several pills, nausea or vomiting may develop at the same time, vaginal bleeding may begin in young people.
