pharmachologic effect

Laxative drug. The effect is due to the action of the ingredients contained in the preparation and is caused by diarrhea.

Macrogol 3350 (polyethylene glycol) due to the creation of an isosmolar solution prevents the absorption of water in the stomach and intestines, contributes to the accelerated passage and release of the contents of the gastrointestinal tract.

The electrolytes of the salts that make up the preparation prevent the violation of the body’s water-salt balance.

High molecular weight polyethylene glycol, due to lack of absorption and metabolism, prevents unwanted gas formation caused by the metabolizing action of bacteria.

Pharmacokinetics

High molecular weight polyethylene glycol is not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and is not metabolized during passage.

Indications

- preparation for endoscopic or x-ray examination of the lower intestine;

- preparation for surgical procedures, accompanied by the need for the absence of intestinal contents - chyme.

Dosing regimen

Adults and children over 18 years The drug is usually administered orally as a solution. Recommended dose: 3-4 liters of solution, taken in portions of 200-300 ml every 10 minutes.

To prepare 1 liter of solution, the contents of 2 sachets are dissolved in 0.5 l of cooled boiled (purified) water and then the volume of the solution is brought to 1 liter. In total, for complete bowel cleansing, it is recommended to prepare and take 3 liters of Endofalc solution. The time during which the solution should be taken is 3-4 hours.

The solution can be taken orally or it is administered through a nasogastric tube the night before or the morning of the day, the intended study or surgery on the intestine. Also on the evening before and on the morning of the study day, it is necessary to refrain from eating.

Side effect

From the digestive system: rarely - nausea, vomiting, flatulence, cramping pain; at the beginning and some time after taking it - a feeling of heaviness and discomfort in the abdomen.

Contraindications
