Mechanism of action
Glycine is a replaceable amino acid, a central inhibitory neurotransmitter of action. It improves the metabolic processes in the brain tissues, has an antidepressant and sedative effect. It has glycine - ergic, antioxidant and anti-toxic effects; regulates the activity of glutamate receptors, thereby reducing psycho-emotional stress, aggressiveness and conflict; improves adaptation and mood; facilitates sleep and normalizes sleep; increases mental performance; reduces the severity of vegetative-vascular disorders (including in menopause) and cerebral disorders in ischemic stroke and traumatic brain injury, the toxic effect of ethanol on the central nervous system.
Indications and usage
Stress states (including psycho-emotional stress), mental retardation, deviant behaviors of children and adolescents, various functional and organic diseases of the nervous system,accompanied by increased excitability, emotional instability, decreased mental performance and sleep disturbance: neurosis, neurosis-like states, consequences of neuroinfections and traumatic brain injury, perinatal and other forms of encephalopathy (including alcohol origin).
Ischemic stroke
In narcology, it is used as drugs (drugs), which increases mental performance and reduces psycho-emotional stress during remission with symptoms of encephalopathy, organic lesions of the central and peripheral nervous system.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, fructose intolerance and syndrome of glucose / galactose absorption suction or sucrase / isomaltase deficiency, hemorrhagic stroke, children's age (efficacy and safety have not been established).
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Glycine is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation due to the lack of sufficient data
Dosage and administration
Sublingually or transbukkalno on 250 mg (in pills or in the form of powder after crushing of a tablet). Children, adolescents and adults with psychoemotional stress, loss of memory, attention, mental performance, mental retardation, and with deviant behaviors, glycine is prescribed ½ pill 2-3 times a day for 14-30 days.With functional and organic lesions of the nervous system, accompanied by increased excitability, emotional lability and sleep disturbance, children up to 3 years old are prescribed ¼ pills 2-3 times a day for 7–14 days, then ¼ pills 1 time a day for 7–10 days The daily dose is 100–150 mg, the course one is 2–2.6 g. Children over 3 years old and adults are prescribed ½ pills 2-3 times a day, the course of treatment is 7–14 days, it can be increased to 30 days, if necessary, a course repeat after 30 days. In case of sleep disorders, it is prescribed мин-½ pills 20 minutes before sleep or immediately before bedtime (depending on age). In ischemic cerebral stroke: during the first 3–6 hours of stroke development, 1 g (4 tablets) is prescribed transbukkalno or sublingually with 1 teaspoon of water, then for 1–5 days, 1 g / day (4 tablets), then over the next 30 days, take ½- 1 pill 3 times a day. In narcology, take ½ pill 2-3 times a day for 14-30 days. If necessary, courses are repeated 4–6 times a year.

Drug Interactions
Weakens the severity of side effects of antipsychotic drugs (neuroleptics), anxiolytics, antidepressants, sleeping pills and anticonvulsant drugs.
