Active ingredient and dosage form

Tablets for vaginal use:
1 pill contains: Ternidazole 200 mg, Neomycin Sulfate 100 mg, Nystatin 100 000 units, Prednisolone (sodium metasulfobenzoate) 3 mg;
Excipients: corn starch, lactose, anhydrous silicon dioxide, talc, Magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, povidone, perfume;
6 pieces in the package.

Mechanism of action

Tergynan - a combined drug for local use in gynecology. The action of the drug due to the properties of its constituent components.
Ternidazole - an imidazole derivative - has a trichomonacid effect, is also active in relation to anaerobic bacteria, in particular Gardnerella.
Neomycin sulfate is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the group of aminoglycosides.
Nystatin is an antifungal antibiotic from the group of polyenes, highly active against Candida fungi.
Prednisolone - glucocorticoid, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect.
The composition of the excipient allows to ensure the integrity of the mucous membrane of the vagina and constancy of pH.

Indications and usage

- bacterial vaginitis caused by banal pyogenic flora;
- Trichomonas vaginitis;
- fungal vaginitis caused by Candida albicans;
- vaginitis caused by a mixed infection (trichomonads, anaerobic infection and yeast-like fungi).

In order to prevent disease
- before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases;
- before childbirth or abortion;
- before and after the installation of the contraceptive spiral;
- before and after diathermocoagulation of the cervix;
- before intrauterine research (hysterography).

Dosage and administration

On one vaginal pill Tergynan before going to bed. The average duration of continuous treatment is 10 days. Do not stop treatment even during menstruation. In cases of confirmed mycosis, the duration of treatment should be increased to 20 days.

Before the introduction into the vagina, the pill must be moistened with water for 20-30 seconds. The pill must be inserted deep into the vagina and then lie down for 10-15 minutes.

Adverse reactions

Local reactions: rarely, burning sensation, local irritation (especially at the beginning of therapy).
Other: extremely rare - allergic reactions.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Perhaps the use of Tergynan during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) according to indications.

Special notes

It is necessary to conduct simultaneous treatment of the sexual partner because of the danger of re-infection.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored at room temperature.
