Composition

Active substances:

Valerian rhizomes with roots extract (dry) 125 mg, lemon balm medicinal leaves extract (dry) 25 mg, peppermint leaves extract (dry) 25 mg.

Excipients:

Magnesium oxide, lactose monohydrate, Magnesium hydrosilicate, magnesium stearate, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide

Description

Capsules No2 (body and lid) are reddish-brown in color, the contents of the capsules are granules or compressed mass from greenish-brown to brown with splashes.

Sedative remedy of plant origin.

Pharmacological properties

• The drug has a sedative and antispasmodic effect.
• Extract of rhizomes with valerian roots has a calming effect.
• Lemon balm leaves extract is soothing and antispasmodic.
• Peppermint Leaf Extract - antispasmodic, mild sedative effect.

Indications for use

Insomnia (difficulty falling asleep), associated with increased nervous excitability.

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the drug;
• lactase deficiency, lactose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption;
• hypotension;
• cholangitis, cholelithiasis and other diseases of the biliary tract;
• children's age up to 12 years.

Patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation has not been studied. Administration of the drug during pregnancy (especially during the first trimester) and breastfeeding is possible if the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Side effect

Allergic reactions (hyperemia, skin rash, edema, allergic dermatitis), bronchospasm, with prolonged use - constipation.

Dosage and Administration

The drug should be taken orally, washing down the capsules with a small amount of water, regardless of the meal.

For insomnia, adults and children over 12 years old should take 1-2 capsules 1 hour before bedtime.

Do not take the drug continuously for more than 1.5-2 months.

The course of treatment is 2-4 weeks.

To increase the duration of the course of treatment, you should consult with your doctor. When discontinuation of treatment, withdrawal does not occur.

Overdosage

A single intake of 20 g of rhizomes with valerian roots (approximately 39 capsules Persen® forte) can cause a feeling of fatigue, stomach cramps, a feeling of tightness in the chest, dizziness, hand tremors, and dilated pupils that can disappear on their own within 24 hours.When symptoms of overdose, it is advisable to carry out gastric lavage and consult a doctor.

Interaction with other drugs:

The drug enhances the effect of hypnotic drugs and other drugs that suppress the central nervous system, antihypertensive drugs (in particular, central action), painkillers, which requires dose adjustment.

Special instructions:

In patients with GERD, symptoms may worsen. If during the use of the drug insomnia symptoms persist or worsen, you should consult with your doctor.

INFLUENCE ON THE ABILITY TO MANAGE THE VEHICLES, MECHANISMS

During the period of drug treatment, care should be taken when performing potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (driving, working with moving mechanisms, the work of the dispatcher, the operator).
