Composition and release form

Halixol tablets:

1 tab. contains Ambroxol hydrochloride 30 mg, excipients: lactose monohydrate; MCC; Povidone; sodium carboxymethyl starch; Magnesium stearate;

in the blister 10 pcs.; in a pack of cardboard 2 blisters.

Halixol - syrup:

10 ml of syrup contain ambroxol hydrochloride 30 mg, excipients: sorbitol; Povidone (K-90); citric acid monohydrate; sodium cyclamate; strawberry flavoring 22754; banana flavoring 270650; sodium benzoate; sodium citrate; purified water;

in dark glass bottles of 100 ml, complete with a measuring cup.

pharmachologic effect

Halixol has an expectorant, mucolytic, surfactant-producing effect.

Indications

Acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory system, accompanied by the formation of viscous sputum: bronchitis, bronchial asthma, COPD, pneumonia, bronchiectasis.

Inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract (sinusitis, otitis media) for which liquefaction of mucus is necessary.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to ambroxol or Bromhexine, ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, pregnancy (I term), children under 5 years of age (tablets).

With care: severe renal failure.

Side effects

Halixol is generally well tolerated.Rarely - weakness, headache, diarrhea / constipation, dry mouth and airways, rhinorrhea, dysuria, gastralgia, nausea, vomiting, rash, urticaria.

Dosage and administration

Halixol is taken orally, after meals, with a large amount of liquid (abundant intake of fluid contributes to the dilution of mucus in the treatment with ambroxol). Syrup can be taken with a measuring cap.

Tablets: adults and children over 12 years old - the usual daily dose in the first 2-3 days of treatment: 1 tab. 3 times a day, in the following days - 1 tab. 2 times or 1/2 table. 3 times a day. In severe cases of the disease, the dose is not reduced during the entire course of treatment.

Children under 5 years of age are recommended to take Halixol syrup.

Children aged 5-12 years - 1/2 table. 2-3 times a day.

Syrup: adults and children over 12 years old - the usual daily dose in the first 2-3 days of treatment: 10 ml 3 times a day, then 10 ml 2 times or 5 ml 3 times a day. In severe cases of the disease, the dose is not reduced during the entire course of treatment.

Children under 2 years old - 2.5 ml 2 times a day, 2-5 years - 2.5 ml 3 times a day, 5-12 years - 5 ml 2-3 times a day.

In severe renal insufficiency, reduce the dosage or increase the intervals between doses.

When taking Halixol for more than 4-5 days, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Storage conditions and shelf life

Store in a cool and dark place, protected from light and moisture, at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 5 years. Opened vial - 4 weeks.
