Composition

One dose of the drug contains: Strain M-17 Escherichia coli *, Bifidobacterium bifidum 1 *.

Mechanism of action

The therapeutic effect of the drug Bifikol is due to the antagonistic activity of live bifidobacteria and Escherichia coli against pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic microorganisms, including: Shigella, Salmonella, Proteus, etc.

It has immunomodulating and adjuvant activity of bacterial antigens that affect the production of specific and nonspecific, including local protection factors, stimulates local reparative processes in the intestine.

Indications and usage

- Treatment of convalescents after acute intestinal infections in the presence of intestinal dysfunctions.
- Isolation of pathogenic bacteria.
- Chronic colitis of various etiologies.
- Dysbacterioses.

Contraindications

Specific and nonspecific ulcerative colitis.

Dosage and administration

The drug is used internally from 6 months. age 30-40 minutes before meals.

When treating convalescents after acute intestinal infections, intestinal dysfunctions:
Children from 6 months. up to 1 year: 3 doses 2 times a day for 10-14 days.
Children from 1 year to 3 years: 5 doses 1-2 times a day for 10-14 days.
Children over 3 years old and adults: 5 doses 2-3 times a day for 14-21 days.

Treatment of dysbacteriosis, non-specific and specific chronic colitis:
Children from 6 months. up to 1 year: 3 doses 2 times a day for 10-14 days.
Children from 1 year to 3 years: 5 doses 2 times a day for 14-21 days.
Children older than 3 years and adults: 5 doses 2-3 times a day for 3 weeks.

The size of the daily dose and duration of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the severity, duration of the disease and the severity of dysbiosis. If necessary, treatments can be repeated, but not earlier than after 2 months. after the end of treatment with prior control of intestinal microbiocenosis.

The contents of the vial are diluted with cooled boiled water at the rate of 5 ml (one teaspoon) per dose of the preparation. The diluted drug cannot be stored.

Adverse reactions

Mild dyspeptic disorders (usually disappear on their own and do not require withdrawal of the drug or the provision of any assistance)

The preparation is not suitable for use, the integrity of the packaging of which is violated (cracked vials), or without labeling, or with altered physical properties (mass of brown color cringing at the bottom of the vial).

Drug interactions

The simultaneous appointment of chemo - and antibiotic therapy is not recommended.

Overdosage

Symptoms: dyspeptic disorders.
Treatment: temporary withdrawal of the drug or discontinuation of treatment with bifikolom.
