Isoflavones are natural ingredients found in some plants, in particular soybeans, from which Solgar is obtained from "Isoflavone Super Concentrate". Isoflavones belong to the class of phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens are substances of plant origin that are similar in structure to their own female sex hormones and, accordingly, have a similar effect to estrogen. However, the action of phytoestrogens is weaker compared with the action of hormones. So, the activity of soybean isoflavones is approximately 1000 times (1/1000) lower than the activity of estrogens.
