Mechanism of action

Myotropic antispasmodic, has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the digestive tract. The main mechanism of action is the selective blockade of Calcium channels located in the peripheral nerve endings and in the smooth muscle cells of the intestine and biliary tract.
Does not possess anticholinergic action. Does not affect the cardiovascular system.

Indications and usage

- symptomatic treatment of pain, discomfort and motility disorders in irritable bowel syndrome;
- symptomatic treatment of pain caused by biliary dyskinesia;
- preparation for the X-ray examination of the colon (before irrigoscopy).

Overdosage

Currently, no cases of drug overdose have been reported for Dicetel.
