Indications and usage

Conjunctivitis, otitis media, eczema (including weeping), dermatitis, pyoderma, diaper rash, colpitis; pediculosis.

Mechanism of action

Antiseptic, also has insecticidal (including anti-pediculosis) action. Coagulates proteins (including enzyme) microbial cells, violates the permeability of the cell wall. 5% aqueous solution inhibits phagocytosis, 2-4% solution retards the growth and development of bacteria. It has an irritating effect on mucous membranes, granulation tissue. Absorption has systemic toxic effects. Pharmacokinetics: Well penetrates the skin and mucous membranes; slowly excreted from the body and may accumulate in organs and tissues. Excreted by the kidneys - 50% (within 12 hours), the remainder - within 5-7 days.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, renal failure, acute inflammatory diseases of the skin; pregnancy, child age (up to 1 year), lactation. With care - extensive damage to the surface of the body.

Symptoms of chronic intoxication (with prolonged use) - exhaustion, stomatitis, eczema, local tissue swelling, menstrual disorders, anemia, convulsions, alopecia. Treatment: symptomatic. Blood transfusion, hemo-and peritoneal dialysis.
