Mechanism of action

The preparation Neurobion contains a combination of neurotropic active substances of a complex of Vitamins of group B. Contains vitamins: thiamine (B1), pyridoxine (Bb) and cyanocobalamin (B12) play a special role as coenzymes in the intermediate metabolism occurring in the central and peripheral nervous system.
Therapeutic Vitamin B Administration1, AT6 and B12 compensates for the often insufficient intake of vitamins from food, which ensures the presence in the body of the necessary quantities of coenzymes. The combined use of vitamins of group B increases their therapeutic efficacy, since it is believed that the effectiveness of the combination exceeds the efficiency of individual factors.
The therapeutic use of these vitamins in various diseases of the nervous system is aimed, on the one hand, to compensate for the existing deficit (possibly due to an increased need of the body due to the disease itself) and, on the other hand, to stimulate natural recovery mechanisms. At the same time, the analgesic effect of the vitamin B complex has a beneficial effect on the therapeutic outcome.

Indications and usage

In the treatment of the following neurological diseases:
trigeminal neuralgia
neuritis of the facial nerve
pain syndrome caused by diseases of the spine (intercostal neuralgia, lumboischialgia, lumbar syndrome, cervical syndrome, cervico-brachial syndrome, radicular syndrome caused by degenerative changes of the spine).

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the drug Neurobion.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

To date, there are no data on adverse effects during pregnancy after administration of vitamins B1, AT6 and B12 in recommended doses.

Dosage and administration

The drug is administered intramuscularly (deep injections into the gluteus maximus muscle).
In cases of severe pain, it is advisable to start treatment with intramuscular administration of 1 ampoule (3 ml) per day until the acute symptoms are relieved.
After improvement of symptoms or in cases of moderate severity: one ampoule 2-3 times a week for 2-3 weeks.
For maintenance therapy, for the prevention of recurrence, or for the continuation of the course of treatment, the drug Neurobion is recommended in another dosage form (coated tablets).

Adverse reactions

In some cases, with parenteral administration of vitamin B1 sweating, tachycardia and allergic reactions in the form of pruritus and rash are observed.
In rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions may occur: rash, difficulty breathing, anaphylactic shock (after parenteral administration of vitamin B1).
In some cases, with the introduction of vitamin B12 (mainly with intravenous infusions) acne, eczema and urticaria were observed.

Special notes

The drug should not be administered intravenously.
Other vitamins, especially cyanocobalamin, may be inactivated in the presence of vitamin B degradation products.1.
The clinical picture, as well as laboratory tests with funicular myelosis or pernicious anemia, may lose their specificity when vitamin B is administered.12.

Drug Interactions

When applied simultaneously with levodopa vitamin B6 may reduce the anti-parkinsonian effect of levodopa.
Increased need for vitamin B6 may occur with the simultaneous appointment of D-penicylamine and cycloserine.
It is not recommended to mix the drug with other drugs in the same syringe.
Vitamin B1 collapses when interacting with solutions containing sulfites.

Overdosage

Vitamins B1, AT6 and B12 have a wide therapeutic range. Symptoms of overdose are not observed when using the drug in recommended doses and regimen.
With intravenous administration of high doses of vitamins for a long time (more than 2 months) symptoms of intoxication may be observed.
Vitamin B1: The following symptoms are reported after a dose that is more than 100 times recommended: headache, muscle spasm, muscle weakness, paralysis, arrhythmia, and allergic reactions.
Vitamin B6: neuropathy with ataxia, sensitivity disorders, epileptiform seizures with changes in the EEG. After administration of more than 2 g per day, cases of hypochromic anemia and seborrheic dermatitis have been described.
Vitamin B12: Allergic reactions, eczematous skin disorders and a benign form of acne have been observed after parenteral administration of a high dose.
In case of overdose symptoms, treatment with the drug should be discontinued. If necessary, symptomatic therapy is prescribed, including desensitizing.

At a temperature not exceeding 20 ° C in a dark place. Keep out of the reach of children.
