At the cellular level, it is a catalyst for tissue respiration, normalizes metabolic processes and oxygen utilization in tissues, and reduces tissue hypoxia under various pathological conditions. Metabolic agent, has antihypoxic, cytoprotective effect, stimulates regeneration processes in tissues.

Indications for use

Cytochrome C is used in complex therapy as a means of improving tissue respiration, in conditions involving a disturbance of the redox processes in the body: asphyxia of the newborn; severe injuries; before and after surgery (to prevent shock); in the period of remission of bronchial asthma with the presence of respiratory failure; in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and heart failure; with viral hepatitis, complicated by hepatic coma; in case of poisoning with hypnotic drugs and carbon monoxide.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, lactation.

Dosage and administration

The drug is used intravenously and intramuscularly. Before using Cytochrome C, the contents of the vial should be dissolved in 4 ml of water for injection and determine the individual sensitivity to it. For this purpose, 0.1 ml of the drug (0.25 mg) is injected intradermally. If a reaction does not occur within 30 minutes (reddening of the face, pruritus, urticaria), then the treatment can be started. Before the appointment of a repeated course must repeat a biological sample.

The drug is administered intravenously slowly or intramuscularly in an amount of 10-20 mg 1-2 times a day. The course of treatment is 10-14 days. For heart failure, the drug is diluted in 200 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or 5% glucose solution and administered intravenously (30-40 drops per minute) for 6-8 hours. The daily dose is 30-80 mg. In the postoperative period (surgery for congenital and acquired heart defects), the drug is administered intravenously 2 times a day, 10 mg per injection. In case of a serious condition (trauma, shock, hepatic coma, poisoning with hypnotic drugs and carbon monoxide), the drug is prescribed in the amount of 50-100 mg. With asphyxia of the newborn, the drug is administered into the umbilical vein during the first two minutes after birth at a dose of 10 mg. In case of bronchial asthma, the drug is administered intramuscularly 2 times a day at a dose of 5-10 mg per injection. The course of treatment lasts from 14 to 25 days, depending on the severity of hypoxia.

Side effect

With the rapid introduction of the drug may be chills with fever, allergic reactions. With prolonged use are possible: changes in the pattern of peripheral blood, indicators of blood coagulation system, liver function.

Release form

Lyophilisate for preparation of solution for intravenous and intramuscular administration in vials with a capacity of 5 ml containing 10 mg of the drug. On 5 bottles in the blister from the PVC film, 1 or 2 blisters in a pack from a cardboard with the application instruction.
