Composition and release form

Farmbutcologic action
Buckthorn bark has a local irritating effect on the large intestine, which is manifested by increased peristalsis. Slowing the absorption of fluid by the mucous membrane of the colon leads to the dilution of fecal masses and an increase in their volume.
Indications
Buckthorn bark is used as a laxative for chronic constipation.
Contraindications
Increased individual sensitivity to components of the cortex Krušina, constipation of neurogenic and endocrine origin, spastic constipation, intestinal obstruction, bleeding, acute abdominal syndrome, appendicitis, other inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity, acute febrile states; pregnancy, breastfeeding period
Side effects
Allergic reactions are possible; with an overdose possible colicky abdominal pain, tenesmus, feeling of discomfort in the abdomen, prolonged use leads to addiction and weakening or absence of a laxative effect
Dosage and administration
About 12 g (2 tablespoons) of the bark is placed in an enamel bowl,pour 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, heat on a boiling water bath with frequent stirring for 30 minutes, cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, filter, squeeze the remaining raw material. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water. Accept on 1/2 glasses for the night and in the morning. 2-3 filter bags are placed in a glass or enamel bowl, pour 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water, cover and leave for 15 minutes. Cooked infusion take 1 glass at night
Storage conditions and shelf life
Store in a cool and dark place, protected from light and moisture, at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 3 years.
