Mechanism of action

Antipsychotic (neuroleptic). It has an antipsychotic, sedative effect, reduces motor activity. In addition, it has an antiemetic, hypothermic and antihistamine effect.

Indications

Mental diseases accompanied by psychomotor agitation (especially in cases of mild course), for maintenance therapy, as well as in debilitated patients, seniors and children.

Dosage and administration

Inside 25-50 mg 2-4 times / day. The maximum single dose for adults - 250 mg, daily - 2 g.

Side effect

Maybe: allergic reactions, dyspeptic symptoms, arterial hypotension, extrapyramidal disorders, hepatitis.

Contraindications

Liver and kidney diseases, gastritis, chronic heart failure in the stage of decompensation, arterial hypotension.

Application for violations of the liver

Contraindicated in diseases of the liver.

Application for violations of kidney function

Contraindicated in diseases of the kidneys.

Drug interaction

With simultaneous use with drugs that have a depressant effect on the central nervous system (including anxiolytics, opioid analgesics, hypnotics, anticonvulsants, anesthesia), it is possible to increase the inhibitory effect on the central nervous system.

With the simultaneous use of drugs with hepatotoxic and nephrotoxic effects, the nephrotoxic and hepatotoxic effects are enhanced.

When applied simultaneously with suxametonium, a case of prolonged apnea is described.
