Indications and usage

- conjunctival edema, secondary hyperemia in allergic diseases of the eye, irritation of the conjunctiva;

- hyperemia and / or swelling of the conjunctiva caused various non-specific causes (condition after tonometry, dust, cigarette smoke, smog, swimming, reading, driving a car).

The drug is instilled 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac of both eyes 2-3 times / day.

If the improvement is not came within 48 hours, further use of the drug should be discontinued and consult a doctor.

Adverse reactions

Local reactions: mydriasis, increased intraocular pressure, reactive hyperemia, lacrimation, burning sensation in the eye.

Systemic reactions (possible with instillation of a large amount of the drug): headache, nausea, drowsiness, weakness, tremor, dizziness, insomnia, palpitations, tachycardia, hyperglycemia, increased blood pressure, impaired activity of the heart, allergic reactions.

Contraindications

- glaucoma;

- children's age up to 6 years;

- endothelial epithelial dystrophy of the cornea;

- pregnancy;

- lactation period (breastfeeding);

- hypersensitivity to the drug.

WITH caution the drug should be prescribed for arterial hypertension, arrhythmia, aneurysm, thyrotoxicosis, pheochromocytoma, diabetes mellitus, severe organic heart and vascular diseases (including CHD), during treatment with MAO inhibitors and other drugs that increase blood pressure.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The drug is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Use in children

Contraindications: children up to 6 years.

Special notes

Long-term use and overdose should be avoided, especially in children.

If eye disease is not an obstacle to wearing contact lenses, they should be removed before instillation of the drug and set after about 15 minutes. Direct contact of eye drops with soft contact lenses should be avoided, taking into account the risk of violation of their transparency.

If the condition does not improve within 48 hours or if the irritation and hyperemia of the eye persists or increases, the drug should be discontinued and consult a doctor. In the event of intense pain in the eyes, headache, loss of vision, the sudden appearance of "floating" spots before the eyes, redness of the eyes, pain when exposed to light or double vision, you should immediately consult a doctor.

Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms

During the period of treatment, it is necessary to refrain from practicing potentially hazardous activities that require high concentration of attention and quickness of psychomotor reactions (due to the possibility of developing visual impairment).

Overdosage

Symptoms: mydriasis, cyanosis, fever, convulsions, arrhythmias, increased blood pressure, pulmonary edema, dyspnea, cardiac arrest. Excessive absorption of imidazole derivatives can lead to CNS depression, accompanied by drowsiness, hypothermia, bradycardia, collapse, apnea, and coma. The risk of overdose symptoms associated with the absorption of the drug is high in young children, especially if swallowed.

Treatment: antidote unknown. They prescribe Activated carbon, gastric lavage, oxygen inhalation, antipyretic and antiepileptic drugs. To reduce blood pressure - phentolamine 5 mg in saline solution slowly in / in or 100 mg orally.

Drug interactions

With simultaneous use with MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, maprotilin increases the risk of developing hypertensive crisis.

When used simultaneously with inhaled anesthetics (cyclopropane, halothane and other halogenated anesthetics), the risk of ventricular fibrillation increases.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature of 15 ° to 25 ° C. Shelf life - 3 years.

After opening the bottle, the drug should be used within 30 days.
