Mechanism of action

GIDROKORTIZON-POS - a glucocorticosteroid for topical administration.
The drug contains as an active component hydrocortisone acetate - glucocorticosteroid. When applied topically, hydrocortisone acetate suppresses inflammatory and allergic reactions that occur in the area of ​​the outer sheaths and anterior segment of the eye.

Indications and usage

It is used to treat: allergic conjunctivitis, blepharitis, blepharoconjunctivitis of acute and chronic iritis, iridocyclitis inflammatory phenomena after surgery on the eyeball to suppress neovascularization after keratitis, chemical burns.

Contraindications

Superficial herpes of the cornea;
Violations of the integrity of the epithelium and damage to the cornea;
Tuberculosis, bacterial or fungal infections of the eye.

Dosage and administration

A strip of ointment with a length of 1 cm is laid 2-3 times a day for the lower eyelid.
To do this, open the tube, slightly tilt your head back and lay a strip of ointment with a length of 1 cm for the bottom
eyelid. Close your eyes carefully.
After use, tightly close the tube.
During the application of the eye ointment, avoid contact of the tube with the skin or
conjunctiva.

Adverse reactions

In very rare cases, allergic reactions are possible, such as contact dermatitis, dermatoconjunctivitis, eczema of the eyelids.
Prolonged use of the drug can cause the occurrence of secondary glaucoma and complicated cataracts, therefore when using the drug for more than 2 weeks, as well as in patients with a history of open-or-angle-closure glaucoma, it is recommended to regularly monitor intraocular pressure.
