Mechanism of action

Activated charcoal - adsorbent. It has enterosorbing, detoxification and antidiarrheal effects. It has a large surface activity and high sorption capacity. Activated carbon is able to adsorb gases, toxic substances, salts of heavy metals, alkaloids and glycosides, medicinal substances, endo-and exotoxins from the gastrointestinal tract.

Indications and usage

Dyspepsia, food intoxication. Alkaloid poisoning, heavy metal salts. Flatulence. To reduce gas formation in preparation for X-ray and endoscopic examinations.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance to the drug, ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract (including peptic ulcer and 12 duodenal ulcers, ulcerative colitis), bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract.

Dosage and administration

The average dose is 100-200 mg / kg / day (in 3 doses). pills are ground to powder and stirred in water (50-150 ml) and taken orally as a suspension.

In case of poisoning, the dosing regimen is individual.
