Mechanism of action

Procto-Glyvenol is a drug for the local treatment of hemorrhoids, whose therapeutic efficacy is due to a combination of two components: tribenoside and lidocaine. Tribenozid has a venous and anti-inflammatory effect. The venotonic effect is manifested by an improvement in vascular tone, a decrease in venous stasis, a decrease in the permeability of capillaries and venules, and an improvement in microcirculation. Anti-inflammatory effect is manifested inhibitory effect on some endogenous substances that act as mediators in the development of inflammation and pain. Lidocaine has a local anesthetic effect. Procto-Glyvenol reduces the severity of symptoms caused by hemorrhoids (pain, skin tension, itching)

External and internal hemorrhoids.

Contraindications

Liver failure.
Pregnancy (I trimester).
Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

During pregnancy, Procto-Glyvenol is not prescribed in the first trimester.When using the drug in the II and III trimesters of pregnancy, it is necessary to take into account the possible risk to the fetus.

If necessary, the use of the drug during breastfeeding should weigh the expected benefits of therapy for the mother and the potential risk to the child.

Dosage and administration

The drug is prescribed rectally in the form of a cream in the morning and evening until the disappearance of the pronounced clinical symptoms. With regression of acute symptoms, the frequency of use can be reduced to 1 time / day.

For internal hemorrhoidal sites, the cream is injected with a nozzle. 30 g of cream (1 tube) is enough for approximately 20-30 rectal injections.

Adverse reactions

Local reactions: In isolated cases - a slight burning sensation, pain, increased intestinal motility.

Other: Allergic reactions.

If the patient's condition does not improve significantly with the use of the drug, or if unusual symptoms appear, the diagnosis should be verified.

During the period of treatment, the patient should monitor the hygiene of the anal area, avoid excessive tension, take measures to maintain a soft stool consistency.

Application for violations of the liver: Contraindicated in liver failure.
