Active ingredient and dosage form
coated tablets white, capsule-like, notched on one side.
Active substances: calcium (calcium citrate and Calcium carbonate) 250 mg, colecalciferol (vitamin D3) 50 IU, copper 0.5 mg, zinc 2 mg, boron 50 μg, manganese 0.5 mg.
Excipients: maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium croscarmellose, acacia, stearic acid, soy polysaccharide, Magnesium stearate.
30, 60 or 120 pills per pack.
Mechanism of action
Kalcemin is a mineral-vitamin complex. Fills the deficiency of trace elements, calcium and vitamin D3, helps strengthen bones and joints, prevents diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Calcium, which is part of the preparation, is a building component for bone tissue, regulates vascular wall permeability, participates in the regulation of conductivity in synapses and neuro-muscular compounds, participates in the contractile activity of skeletal and smooth muscles, is a necessary component for the blood coagulation process. Calcium is represented in the preparation of carbonate and citrate salts. Calcium carbonate contains the maximum amount of elemental calcium. Calcium citrate reduces the dependence of the process of calcium bioavailability on the state of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract, prevents concretion in the urinary system, even in the case of prolonged use, reduces the excess production of parathyroid hormone.
Vitamin D (cholecalciferol) contributes to the adequate absorption of calcium, is involved in the processes of regeneration and building bone tissue.
Zinc is a component of various body enzymes (more than 200 types) that synthesize proteins and nucleic acids. It also provides gene expression, regeneration and cell growth. A positive effect on the activity of the enzyme alkaline phosphatase.
Manganese promotes the synthesis of substances that are components of bone and cartilage tissue (glycosaminoglycans). Potentiates calcium-sparing ability of vitamin D.
Copper is involved in the formation of elastin, collagen. It helps to stop the phenomenon of demineralization of bone structures.
Boron normalizes the activity of parathyroid hormone - parathyroid hormone. The latter is involved in the metabolism of calcium, cholecalciferol, phosphorus, magnesium. The effect on mineral metabolism of parathyroid hormone does not depend on the intake of vitamin D3.
Calcium is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, is eliminated from the body with urine, sweat and feces. Calcium absorption is possible due to the activity of calbindin, an enzyme of the intestinal mucosa. Kalbindin biosynthesis directly depends on calcitriol, a vitamin D metabolite.
Vitamin D is rapidly absorbed from the intestines. It penetrates into the bones, liver, adrenal glands, adipose tissue, heart muscle. With the release of vitamin D with bile, its reabsorption is observed. Partially transformed into inactive metabolites.
Zinc is eliminated by the kidneys (10%) and intestines (90%).
Copper is absorbed from the intestine partially, the rest is eliminated unchanged or in the form of insoluble complexes. 80% of the injected copper is excreted in the bile, 16% in the intestines, 4% in the kidneys, a very small amount in the sweat glands.
Boron after absorption from the intestine is excreted by the kidneys (90%).
Indications and usage
- prevention and treatment of osteoporosis,
- replenishment of calcium deficiency and trace elements in adolescents;
- replenishment of calcium deficiency and trace elements in women during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Dosage and administration
Calcemin pills are taken before meals or during meals.
For children over 12 years old and adults - 1 pill 2 times a day. Children from 5 to 12 years old - 1 pill 1 time per day. The duration of therapy is determined individually, there is no time limit.
Pregnant with 20th week and nursing mothers appoint 1 pill 2 times a day. The drug is prescribed no earlier than 20 weeks of pregnancy.
At calcium deficiency and trace elements appoint 1 pill per day.
Adverse reactions
Seldom: nausea, vomiting, flatulence, hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, allergic reactions.
Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug,
- hypercalciuria,
- hypercalcemia,
- kidney disease.
Special notes
When using the drug should not exceed the recommended dose, because Increased calcium intake may inhibit intestinal absorption of iron, zinc, and other essential minerals.
Storage conditions
Store in a dry place out of reach of children at a temperature of 15 ° to 30 ° C.
Shelf life - 3 years.
