Active ingredient

Fucidin - ointment for external use of 2%:

1 g ointment contains sodium fusidate 20 mg, excipients: lanolin; cetyl alcohol; liquid paraffin; white paraffin soft;

in tubes of 15 g;

Fucidin - cream for external use of 2%:

1 g of cream contains anhydrous fusidic acid 20 mg, excipients: butylhydroxyanisole; cetyl alcohol; glycerol 85%; liquid paraffin; potassium sorbate; polysorbate 60; white paraffin soft; purified water;

in tubes of 15 g.

Mechanism of action

Fucidin has an antibacterial effect.

Indications and usage

Bacterial skin infections in adults, adolescents, children and newborns.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of Fucidin.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Fucidin should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding, although experimental data do not confirm the embryotoxic or teratogenic effect of the drug.

Adverse reactions

The frequency of side effects is classified as very rare and is approximately 2: 1,000,000 treatments.

Skin and subcutaneous tissue (listed in decreasing order of frequency): itching, irritation, burning sensation and tingling, dry skin, rash (erythematous, maculopapular, pustular), contact dermatitis, eczema, erythema, urticaria, angioedema, periorbital edema.

Immune system: allergic reactions.

Dosage and administration

Fucidin is used topically. An ointment or cream is applied to the skin lesion site 3 times a day for 10 days.
