Mechanism of action

Kars - hepatoprotector. Obtained from the plant Silybum marianum. It has a hepatoprotective and antioxidant effect. The therapeutic effect is due to the effect on the metabolism of hepatocytes. It activates the synthesis of proteins and enzymes in hepatocytes, has a stabilizing effect on the membrane of hepatocytes, inhibits the penetration of toxins into liver cells, inhibits dystrophic processes, and potentiates regenerative processes in the liver.

Indications

In the complex therapy:

• toxic liver damage;
• conditions after acute hepatitis;
• chronic hepatitis non-viral etiology;
• liver steatosis (non-alcoholic and alcoholic);
• cirrhosis of the liver;
• prevention of hepatic lesions with long-term medication, alcohol, chronic intoxication (including professional).

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to the active or any of the excipients of the drug Carsil Forte;
• lactase deficiency, galactosemia or glucose / galactose malabsorption syndrome (the presence of lactose in the formulation);
• celiac disease (gluten enteropathy) - the presence of wheat starch in the preparation;
• children under 12 years old.

With care: patients with hormonal disorders (endometriosis, uterine myoma, carcinoma of the mammary gland, ovaries and uterus, carcinoma of the prostate gland) - may be the manifestation of the estrogen-like effect of silymarin.

How to take, the course of administration and dosage

Adults Kars appointed 1-2 pills 3 times / day. If necessary, the daily dose may be increased to 12 pills (420 mg).
For prophylactic purposes, the drug is prescribed in a daily dose of 2-3 pills (70-105 mg).
The duration of treatment is at least 90 days.

Overdosage

The drug is not used to treat acute intoxication.

The preparation contains wheat starch as an auxiliary substance.

Wheat starch may contain gluten, but in small quantities, and therefore is considered safe for patients with celiac disease. Patients with wheat allergies (but not celiac disease) should not take this medication.

The drug as an excipient contains sucrose. Patients with rare hereditary intolerance to fructose, galactose, glucose-galactose malabsorption or sucrose-isomaltase deficiency should not take the drug.
