Active ingredient and dosage form

Sofradex - drops:

1 ml of drops contains framycetin 5 mg, gramicidin 0.05 mg and Dexamethasone 0.5 mg; in vials of 5 ml.

Mechanism of action

Sofradex has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-bacterial, antipruritic effect.

Superficial bacterial infections of the eye, accompanied by a pronounced inflammatory or allergic component; blepharitis, infected eczema of the eyelids, barley, allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis rosacea, scleritis, episcleritis, iridocyclitis, iritis, acute and chronic otitis externa.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, viral (including herpetic) or fungal infections, tuberculosis, purulent eye inflammation, glaucoma, perforation of the eardrum (for use in ENT).

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The safety of using Sofradex during pregnancy and lactation periods has not been established.

Adverse reactions

Irritation, burning, pain, itching, dermatitis at the site of application, increased intraocular pressure, subcapsular cataract (with prolonged use), thinning of the cornea (with diseases of the cornea or sclera, accompanied by a decrease in the thickness of these shells).

Dosage and administration

1-2 drops of Sofradex in the affected eye up to 6 times per day or more. 2-3 drops instilled into the ear 3-4 times a day. Course - up to 7 days.

Storage conditions

In the dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 ° C. Shelf life - 3 years.
