Mechanism of action

KOLOMAK - keratolytic drug. Salicylic acid has a keratolytic effect, has a weak antimicrobial activity. Lactic acid promotes chemical destruction of warts. Polydocanol has a local anesthetic effect, the local sclerosing effect prevents recurrence of the disease.

Indications and usage

Warts, corns, callus, keratinization of the skin, genital warts (including the classic flattened and giant warts Bushke - Livenstein), hyperkeratosis in psoriasis (including the palm-foot plantar).

Contraindications

In case of hypersensitivity to salicylic acid, salicylates or any other components of the drug Kollomak should not be used. Do not use Kollomak in the treatment of infants.

Dosage and administration

Apply one drop of Collomac solution 1–2 times a day to the affected skin. In case of plantar warts, hyperkeratosis of the feet (callousness), a warm foot bath enhances the therapeutic effect.The duration of treatment is set individually depending on the effectiveness of the drug. For adults, the maximum dose of Collomac is 10 ml per day, which corresponds to 2 g of salicylic acid per day. As a rule, in 3-4 days you can remove calluses and calluses after taking a warm foot bath. For children, the maximum dose of Collomac is 1 ml / day, which corresponds to 0.2 g of salicylic acid. Do not exceed this dose. When treating children, do not treat multiple skin areas at the same time. Caution: Collomac is used only for external use. Collomac should not be in contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In order to avoid damage to the surrounding skin, when applying Kollomak, it is protected with zinc paste. After use, the bottle should be well closed. If necessary, the treatment can be repeated. When using the maximum allowable daily dose of 10 ml of Collomac for adults and, accordingly, 1 ml of Collomac for children, the duration of treatment should not exceed 1 week. Special notes

Collomac should not be applied to moles, hairy warts, warts in the genital area or face. Kollomak should not be used in patients with impaired renal function (renal failure). In these patients, the use of drugs containing salicylates, can be carried out with extreme caution.Do not allow the drug on the mucous membranes, especially in the eyes. If this happens, you must rinse the area with plenty of water. After use, close the vial tightly! During pregnancy, the use of Kollomak is allowed only when applied to a limited area of ​​skin (no more than 5 cm2). When using Kollomak, it is possible to continue breastfeeding during treatment.
