Mechanism of action

Fluifort - mucolytic drug. The action of the drug is due to the activation of sialic transferase, an enzyme of the goblet cells of the bronchial mucosa. Normalizes the proportion of acidic and neutral sialomucins of bronchial secretions, restores the viscosity and elasticity of mucus, thereby improving sputum discharge. It promotes the regeneration of the mucous membrane, normalizes its structure, activates the activity of the ciliary epithelium. Restores the secretion of immunologically active IgA (specific protection) and the number of sulfhydryl groups of mucus components (non-specific protection), improves mucociliary clearance.

Indications and usage

- Acute and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, accompanied by the formation of viscous and difficult to separate sputum and mucus, including: tracheitis, bronchitis, bracheobronchitis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis.
- Inflammatory diseases of the middle ear and paranasal sinuses, accompanied by the formation of viscous and difficult to separate sputum and mucus, including: rhinitis, adenoiditis, otitis media, sinusitis.
- Preparing the patient for bronchoscopy and bronchography.

Contraindications

- Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase.
- Children's age up to 16 years.
- I trimester of pregnancy.
- Lactation period.
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
With caution should use the drug for gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer history, in the II and III trimesters of pregnancy.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The drug is contraindicated for use in the first trimester of pregnancy and lactation.

Dosage and administration

Adults are prescribed 1 sachet of granules / day. The contents of the bag before taking should be dissolved in water and mix. Fluifort has the ability to functionally cumulate, which makes it possible to take a dose of granulate at a time per day and prolongs the post-mucoactivate period of the effect of the drug up to 8 days after its cancellation. For children, the drug is prescribed in the form of syrup. The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and ranges from 4 days to 6 months. With violations of the liver and kidneys, as well as diabetes mellitus dose adjustment is not required.

Cautions

From the first days of taking Fluifort, the expectorant effect is enhanced due to improved clearance of secretions. The use of Fluifort does not lead to the development of addiction or metabolic dependence. Fluofort treatment can be combined with physiotherapeutic procedures. Fliufort in the form of granules contains aspartame, which is contraindicated in patients with phenylketonuria.

Drug Interactions

With simultaneous use of Fluifort with antitussives and m-anticholinergics, its action may be reduced. With the simultaneous use of Fluifort increases the effectiveness of corticosteroids and antibiotics, enhances the bronchodilator effect of theophylline.

Overdosage

Currently, cases of drug overdose Fluifort were reported.
Symptoms: epigastric pain, nausea, diarrhea.
Treatment: symptomatic. There is no specific antidote.

Storage conditions
