Active ingredient and dosage form

Syrup:
10 ml of syrup contain butamirata dihydrogen citrate 15 mg;
100 or 200 ml in bottles.

Mechanism of action

Sinecod - antitussive drug of central action, does not apply to opium alkaloids. It has a direct effect on the cough center. It has antitussive, expectorant, moderate bronchodilatory, anti-inflammatory effect. Reduces airway resistance, as evidenced by improved spirometry.

Indications and usage

Dry cough of various etiologies (including whooping cough); suppression of cough in the pre- and postoperative period during surgical procedures and bronchoscopy.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the drug. Children's age up to 3 years; pregnancy and breastfeeding period.

Dosage and administration

Synecod syrup is taken orally, if possible before meals.

Children from 3 to 6 years old - 5 ml 3 times a day, 6-12 years - 10 ml 3 times a day, 12 years and older - 15 ml 3 times a day; adults - 15 ml 4 times a day.

Adverse reactions

Dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, skin rash, itching.

Special notes

As sweetening additives, drops and syrup contain sorbitol and saccharin, so the drug can be prescribed to patients with diabetes.
