Mechanism of action

Vitamin preparation. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) plays an important role in the regulation of redox processes, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting, tissue regeneration; participates in the synthesis of corticosteroids, collagen and procollagen; normalizes capillary permeability. Glucose is involved in energy and carbohydrate metabolism.

Adverse Effects

When applied according to indications in recommended doses, side effects were not detected.

Contraindications

- elevated blood glucose and urine;
Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Perhaps the use of Asvitol during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) according to indications.

Special notes

With the simultaneous use of fresh fruit or vegetable juices, alkaline drinking decreases the absorption of the active substances of the drug Asvitol.
Prolonged use of the drug in high doses (more than 1 g) may contribute to the development of symptoms of urolithiasis and increase the level of glucose in the blood and urine.

Overdosage

So far, cases of drug overdose Asvitol were reported.

Drug Interactions

With the simultaneous use of Asvitol with oral contraceptives decreases the absorption of ascorbic acid.
With the simultaneous use of Asvitol with penicillin and iron preparations increases the absorption of the latter.
With the simultaneous use of Asvitol with Heparin and indirect anticoagulants decreases the effect of the latter.
With the simultaneous use of Asvitol with salicylates increases the risk of crystalluria.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored in a dry place. Shelf life - 1 year.

The drug is approved for use as a means of OTC.
