Mechanism of action

MEXICOR - an inhibitor of free radical processes - membrane protector, which also has antihypoxic, stress-protective, nootropic, anti-epileptic and anxiolytic effects. The mechanism of action is due to antioxidant and membrane-protective properties. Suppresses lipid peroxidation, increases the activity of superoxidase, increases the ratio of lipid-protein, reduces the viscosity of the membrane, increases its fluidity. Modulates the activity of membrane enzymes (Ca2 + -independent PDE, adenylate cyclase, acetylcholinesterase) receptor complexes (benzodiazepine, GABA, acetylcholine), which contributes to ligand binding, preservation of structural and functional organization of biological membranes, transport of neurotransmitters and improve synaptic transmission. Increases the concentration in the brain dopamine. It causes an increase in compensatory activation of aerobic glycolysis and a decrease in the degree of inhibition of oxidative processes in the Krebs cycle under hypoxic conditions with an increase in ATP and creatine phosphate, activation of energy-synthesizing functions of mitochondria, and stabilization of cell membranes. Increases the body's resistance to the effects of various damaging factors in pathological conditions (shock, hypoxia and ischemia, cerebral circulation disorders, intoxication with ethanol and antipsychotic drugs).It improves the metabolism and blood supply of the brain, microcirculation and rheological properties of the blood, reduces platelet aggregation. Stabilizes the membranes of blood cells (erythrocytes and platelets), reducing the likelihood of hemolysis. It has a hypolipidemic effect, reduces the content of total cholesterol and LDL. Reduces enzymatic toxemia and endogenous intoxication in acute pancreatitis.

Indications and usage

Neurotic and neurosis-like states (anxiety, fear, irritability, emotional lability, IRR); organic psychosyndrome due to impaired cerebral circulation; encephalopathy; TBI; intellectual and mental disorders (of various genesis; including memory impairment in elderly people); withdrawal syndrome. Parenteral: acute violation of cerebral circulation; psychoorganic syndrome due to impaired cerebral circulation; encephalopathy; VSD; intellectual and mental disorders (including memory impairment in the elderly); TBI; neurotic and neurosis-like states (anxiety, fear, irritability, emotional lability); intoxication caused by antipsychotic drugs; withdrawal syndrome; acute purulent-inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity (acute pancreatonecrosis, peritonitis) as part of complex therapy.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity; hepatic and / or renal failure; pregnancy, lactation, child age.

Dosage and administration

Inside, 0.25-0.5 g / day in 2-3 doses; the maximum daily dose is 0.6-0.8 g. The duration of treatment is 2-6 weeks; for stopping alcohol withdrawal - 5-7 days. Treatment is stopped gradually. When withdrawal syndrome - in / m, 100-200 mg 2-3 times a day or / drip, 1-2 times a day for 5-7 days. For neurotic and neurosis-like disorders, i / m, at 0.05-0.4 g / day. For disorders of memory, intelligence - in / m, at 0.1-0.3 g / day for 14-30 days. In acute intoxication with antipsychotic drugs - in / in, 0.05-0.3 g / day for 7-14 days. In acute purulent-inflammatory processes of the abdominal cavity is prescribed on the first day both in the preoperative and postoperative periods. Doses depend on the form and severity of the disease, the prevalence of the process, its variants.The abolition of the drug is made gradually, after a sustained positive clinical and laboratory effect. In acute edematous (interstitial) pancreatitis - in / in drip and in / m, 0.1 g 3 times a day. Mild severity of pancreatic necrosis - in / in the drip and / m, 100-200 mg 3 times a day. Medium severity - in / in drip, 0.2 g 3 times a day. Severe - 0.4 g 2 times in 1 day, then 0.3 g 2 times a day with a gradual decrease in the daily dose. Extremely severe - 0.8 g / day to persistent relief of manifestations of pancreatic shock, with the stabilization of the state - in / in the drip, 0.3-0.4 g 2 times a day with a gradual decrease in the daily dose.

Adverse reactions

Nausea, dry mouth, drowsiness, allergic reactions. Overdose. Symptoms: drowsiness.

Special notes

With the infusion method of administration diluted in 0.9% NaCl solution. During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and psychomotor speed.

Drug interactions

Enhances the action of benzodiazepine anxiolytics, antiepileptic (carbamazepine), antiparkinsonian (levodopa) drugs. Reduces the toxic effects of ethanol.
