Indications and usage

Testosterone deficiency in primary and secondary hypogonadism in men.

Contraindications

Androgen-dependent prostate carcinoma.
Androgen-dependent carcinoma of the breast in men.
Hypercalcemia associated with malignant tumors.
Liver tumors now or in history.
Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Nebido is not used in women.

The drug should be used with caution in patients with apnea syndrome.

Nebido injection in a dose of 1 g (1 ampoule) is made 1 time in 10-14 weeks. At this frequency of injections, a sufficient level of testosterone is maintained, and the substance does not cumulate.

Injections should be made very slowly. Nebido can only be entered strictly in / m. Care must be taken to ensure that the drug does not get into the blood vessel.

Before starting treatment, determine the amount of testosterone in serum. The first interval between injections can be reduced, but must be at least 6 weeks. C ss at this dose is achieved quickly.

At the end of the interval between injections, it is recommended to measure the amount of testosterone in serum. If its level is below normal, then this fact may indicate the need to reduce the interval between injections. At high concentrations, consideration should be given to the advisability of extending this interval. The interval between injections should remain within the recommended range of 10-14 weeks.

Under the influence of androgens, hypoglycemic effects of insulin may be enhanced. May require a dose reduction of the hypoglycemic drug.

It is possible to interact with drugs that induce microsomal enzymes (for example, barbiturates), which can lead to an increase in testosterone clearance.

Androgens may affect the metabolism of other drugs. Accordingly, drug concentrations in plasma and tissues may vary: for example, an increase in serum oxyphenbutazone concentrations may be observed. In addition, testosterone and its derivatives can increase the activity of oral anticoagulants, which may lead to the need for dose adjustment. Regardless of this fact, as a general rule, one should always observe the restrictions concerning intramuscular injections in patients with acquired or hereditary bleeding disorders.

Since compatibility studies have not been conducted, this drug should not be mixed with other drugs.

The drug should be stored at a temperature not higher than 25 ° C.
