Indications

- anxiety disorders in neurotic and neurosis-like states;

- vegetative-vascular dystonia;

- light cognitive disorders of various origins (with psychoorganic syndrome and asthenic disorders caused by acute and chronic disorders of the cerebral circulation, head injuries, neuroinfections and intoxications, senile and atrophic processes);

- memory disorders and intellectual deficiency in the elderly;

- the impact of extreme (stress) factors;

- withdrawal syndrome in alcoholism with a predominance of neurosis-like and vegetative-vascular disorders.

Dosage and administration

Mexiprim is prescribed by mouth. The therapeutic dose and duration of treatment are determined by the patient's sensitivity to the drug.

At the beginning of treatment, the drug is prescribed in a dose of 250-500 mg, the average daily dose is 250-500 mg, the maximum daily dose is 800 mg. The daily dose is divided into 2-3 doses throughout the day.

For treatment anxiety disorders, vascular dystonia and cognitive impairment the drug is used within 2-6 weeks.

At relief of alcohol withdrawal syndrome Duration of application is 5-7 days.

Mepriprim course therapy is completed gradually, reducing the dose over a period of 2–3 days.

Adverse effects

Gastrointestinal: rarely - nausea, dry mouth.

Other: rarely - drowsiness, allergic reactions.

Contraindications

- liver failure;

- renal failure;

- pregnancy;

- breastfeeding period;

- childhood;

- Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

The drug is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.

Application for violations of the liver

The drug is contraindicated in liver failure.

Application for violations of kidney function

The drug is contraindicated in renal failure.

Special notes

Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms

During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require increased concentration and psychomotor speed.

Overdosage

Symptoms: sleep disturbances (insomnia, in some cases drowsiness).

Treatment: symptoms usually disappear on their own within 24 hours. In severe cases of insomnia, nitrazepam is recommended at a dose of 10 mg, oxazepam at a dose of 10 mg or diazepam at a dose of 5 mg.

Drug interaction

Mexiprim is compatible with psychotropic drugs.

When combined, Mexiprim enhances the action of anxiolytics (benzodiazepine derivatives), anti-Parkinsonian drugs and Carbamazepine.

Mexiprim reduces the toxic effect of ethanol.
