Indications
- purulent bacterial infections caused by sensitive microflora with the ineffectiveness of other chemotherapeutic agents or their poor tolerance;
- severe septic conditions (including in patients with burn disease);
- purulent meningitis;
- severe purulent-inflammatory processes with symptoms of generalization of infection.
Dosing regimen
In / drip injected 0.5% solution of the drug, which is diluted with 5% dextrose solution or 0.9% isotonic sodium chloride solution to a concentration of 0.1-0.2%. The daily dose of the drug is administered once or in 3-4 doses (fractional administration). The drug is administered at a rate of 60-80 drops / min for 30 minutes.
The recommended dose of the drug, depending on the localization process.
At treatment of purulent urinary tract infections the daily dose is 200-400 mg dioxidine, i.e. 40-80 ml of 0.5% solution;
At chronic purulent processes in the lungs - daily dose of 500-600 mg dioxidine, i.e. 100-120 ml of 0.5% solution.
At purulent meningitis daily dose - 600-700 mg dioxidine, i.e. 120-140 ml of 0.5% solution.
At severe septic conditions A 0.5% solution of the drug is injected intravenously, which is diluted in a 5% dextrose solution or a 0.9% solution of isotonic sodium chloride to a concentration of 0.1-0.2%. Daily dose of 600-900 mg (in 3-4 doses).
Adverse Effects
With the on / in the introduction of possible headache, chills, fever, dyspeptic disorders, convulsive muscle contractions,allergic reactions, photosensitizing effect (the appearance of pigmented spots on the body when exposed to sunlight).
Contraindications

Assign only with the ineffectiveness of other antibacterial drugs, including cephalosporins II-IV generations, fluoroquinolones, carbapenems.
When pigment spots appear, increase the duration of a single dose up to 1.5-2 hours, reduce the dose, prescribe antihistamines, or cancel dioxidine.
