Adverse Effects

With prolonged use of steroid drugs can be observed: increased IOP with possible subsequent development of glaucoma, resulting in the development of characteristic lesions of the optic nerve and changes in the visual field (therefore, when using drugs containing corticosteroids, more than 10 days should be measured IOP); the formation of posterior subcapsular cataracts; slowing down the process of wound healing (in case of diseases that cause thinning of the cornea or sclera, perforation of the fibrous membrane is possible with local use of steroid preparations).

Dosage and administration

In the conjunctival sac.

Maxidex eye drops: 1-2 drops of the solution instilled every 3-6 hours or as recommended by your doctor. Before use, the bottle with drops should be shaken.

Maxidex eye ointment: a strip of ointment with a length of 1-1.5 cm should be applied 2-3 times a day for the lower eyelid.

You can combine the use of ointment and eye drops: ointment - in the evening before bedtime, and eye drops during the day.

Storage conditions
