Dosage form

Mechanism of action

Stresam - anxiolytic (tranquilizer). Derived benzoxazine, has anxiolytic activity, to a lesser extent has a sedative effect. Selectively affects the chlorine channels of the supramolecular GABA-benzodiazepine-chlorinophor receptor complex, inhibiting GABA-ergic transmission. Not addictive and "cancel" syndrome.

Indications and usage

Elimination of anxiety, fear, internal stress, increased irritability, decrease in mood (including against the background of somatic diseases, especially cardiovascular nature).

Contraindications

- Shock condition.
- Myasthenia.
- Severe abnormal liver function.
- Severe renal dysfunction.
- Children's and teenage age up to 18 years.
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

The use of the drug during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is contraindicated. If pregnancy is detected during Stresam treatment, you should consult your doctor about the continuation of treatment.

Dosage and administration

The drug should be taken orally in 1 caps. 3 times / day or 2 caps. 2 times / day, washing down with a small amount of water. The course of treatment usually ranges from several days to 4-6 weeks. The dose and duration of treatment should be determined individually, depending on the patient's condition.

Adverse reactions

From the side of the central nervous system: slight drowsiness, appearing in the first days of admission and usually disappearing independently in the course of treatment.
Allergic reactions: rarely - skin rashes, urticaria, angioedema.

Special notes

Lactose is present as part of Stresam, which should be considered when prescribing the drug to patients with galactosemia, glucose and galactose malabsorption syndrome, as well as in the case of lactase deficiency. In case of skipping the drug should not double the dose at the next admission. The prescribed dose should not be exceeded. It is not recommended to take the drug when consuming alcoholic beverages. It is not recommended to use the drug in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years.
Influence on ability to drive motor transport and control mechanisms: Because of the risk of drowsiness, you should avoid driving and activities that require increased attention, for example, controlling various mechanisms.

Drug Interactions

Stresam potentiates the action of drugs that inhibit the central nervous system (including opioid analgesics, barbiturates, hypnotic drugs, antihistamines, antipsychotics). Stresam enhances the effects of ethanol.

Overdosage

Symptoms: lethargy, excessive drowsiness.
Treatment: gastric lavage with plenty of water; symptomatic treatment; there is no specific antidote.

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children at a temperature of 15 ° to 25 ° C.
