Active ingredient and dosage form
Coated Tablets white, round, biconvex.
1 pill contains 80 mg of fenspiride hydrochloride;
Excipients: Calcium phosphate, hypromellose, povidone, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, Magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, glycerol, macrogol 6000;
30 pieces packaged.
Mechanism of action
Anti-inflammatory and anti-bronchoconstrictor activity of the drug Erespal is due to the fact that fenspiride reduces the production of a number of biologically active substances (cytokines, especially tumor necrosis factor a (TNF-a), arachidonic acid derivatives, free radicals) that play an important role in the development of inflammation and bronchospasm. Inhibition of arachidonic acid metabolism by fenspiride is potentiated by the blockade of histamine H1 receptors, since Histamine stimulates the formation of its products (prostaglandins and leukotrienes). Fenspiride blocks a-adrenoreceptors, stimulation of which is accompanied by an increase in the secretion of bronchial glands. Thus, fenspirid reduces the effect of a number of factors that contribute to the hypersecretion of pro-inflammatory factors, the development of inflammation and bronchial obstruction. The presence of spasmolytic activity is also characteristic of fenspiride.
Indications and usage
Diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract:
- rhinopharyngitis and laryngitis;
- otitis and sinusitis of various etiologies, including allergic (both seasonal and permanent);
- rhinotracheobronchitis;

- Complicated or isolated bronchial asthma (supportive therapy);
- respiratory phenomena with measles, whooping cough, flu.
Contraindications
- children's age up to 14 years;
- hypersensitivity to the active substance and / or to any of the components of the preparation, especially to the dye setset yellow CFC, methyl - and propyl parabens (for syrup).
Dosage and administration
For adults the drug is prescribed 80 mg (1 tab.) 2-3 times a day.
Erespal in the form of pills is not intended to treat children under the age of 14 years. For the use of the drug in children under 14 years recommended Erespal in the form of syrup.
The course of treatment is 20-30 days. A second course is possible after consulting a doctor.
The drug should be taken before meals.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not recommend the use of Erespal during pregnancy due to the lack of sufficient clinical data. Therapy with fenspiride is not a basis for abortion of the onset of pregnancy.
At the time of taking Erespal during lactation, breastfeeding should be abandoned, because no data on the allocation of fenspiride with breast milk.
Special notes
With the infectious nature of the disease, Erespal treatment is carried out in combination with standard antibiotic therapy.
Erespal is prescribed with caution in the form of a syrup to patients with hypersensitivity to Acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs due to the risk of allergic reactions (including bronchospasm) in this category of patients due to the fact that the dye yellow CFC is included in the syrup..
Since syrup contains sucrose, it should be prescribed to patients with diabetes mellitus with caution, because may require dose adjustment hypoglycemic drugs.
Due to the presence of sucrose, Erespal in the form of a syrup should not be prescribed to patients with fructose intolerance, glucose malabsorption syndrome and galactose or surazoisomaltase deficiency (a rare metabolic disorder).
