Active ingredient and dosage form

Bronhikum TP elixir for oral administration:
100 ml of elixir contain thyme herb extract liquid 5 g, primrose root extract liquid 2.5 g,
auxiliary components: sodium benzoate, sugar syrup special, purified water;
in a bottle of 130 g

Mechanism of action

Bronhikum TP - expectorant plant. It has an expectorant, anti-inflammatory, bronchodilator, antimicrobial effect, helps to reduce the viscosity of sputum and accelerate its evacuation.

Indications and usage

Used as an expectorant in the complex therapy of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (bronchitis, tracheitis, etc.), accompanied by cough with sputum difficult to separate.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, congenital fructose intolerance, glucose-fructose malabsorption, enzyme deficiency of sucrase and isomaltase, chronic heart failure (in decompensation), severe dysfunction of the liver and kidneys, children (up to 1 year).
Due to the content in the preparation of ethyl alcohol, the elixir Bronhikum TP should not be used in patients with alcoholism.
With caution and only after consulting a doctor should be taken elixir to patients with liver diseases, diseases and injuries of the brain, epilepsy.

Dosage and administration

Inside, adults and adolescents are prescribed orally for 1 teaspoon of elixir (5 ml) up to 6 times per day.
Children from 5 to 12 years old - 1 teaspoon of elixir (5 ml) up to 4 times per day.
Children from 1 year to 4 years old - 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) up to 3 times per day.
Elixir should be taken at regular intervals during the day.

The average course of treatment is 10-14 days. Increasing the duration and repeated courses of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

Adverse reactions

Allergic reactions: skin rash, urticaria, as well as swelling of the face and mucous membranes of the mouth and pharynx (angioedema);
From the gastrointestinal tract: nausea, gastritis, dyspepsia.

Special notes

Elixir Bronhikum TP contains 5.46% by volume ethyl alcohol. If the improvement of the patient's condition does not occur, or in the event of the occurrence of attacks of suffocation, purulent sputum, as well as with an increase in temperature, you should immediately consult a doctor.

Concurrent use with antitussive drugs, as well as with drugs that reduce the formation of sputum is not recommended, as this makes coughing of liquefied sputum difficult.
